First of all, I have a hump nose, deviated nose, bulbous nose, long nose, asymmetrical nostrils, basically a hopeless nose^_^ But I want no implants and I want a natural result, so I got consultations mainly focused on that!
A University Hospital 1) They said deviated nose correction requires placing a support(?) next to the nasal septum to straighten the axis while pushing the deviated side. -Honestly, it was a surgical method I hadn’t heard about at private clinics, so it felt unfamiliar. I’ll need to hear more details when I go for another consultation next time 2) For the hump, just rasping it down 3) They felt my nasal septum and said it was almost nonexistent;; They said it was extremely weak, so unless absolutely necessary, no manipulation of the septum 4) Raising the nasal tip with ear cartilage 5) My facial structure is one where the glabella should not be raised 6) Since I didn’t get a CT scan, we agreed to take an additional CT next time and have a detailed consultation (check for deviated septum, check whether osteotomy is needed) 7) General anesthesia
B Private Clinic 1) Deviated nose correction cannot be done perfectly 2) The deviated appearance can be softened by removing the hump 3) Osteotomy is needed 4) Nostril asymmetry cannot be corrected. They clearly told me my nose is also not suitable for alar reduction 5) No implant - not raising the glabella, removing the hump, building the nasal tip (septal cartilage), filling the step-off - they use septal cartilage for this, and if it’s insufficient, ear cartilage.. but the chance of using ear cartilage is 10% 6) They told me what nose shape would suit me 7) Local + sedation anesthesia -> I heard the doctor was scary, but I didn’t feel that at all. They showed me photos and asked a lot of questions, and somehow it felt like I had to get the answers right.. lol Even when I asked a lot of questions, they explained everything and told me to ask anything I was curious about. I liked that they realistically told me what could and couldn’t be corrected, and they were confident that the columellar scar would fade to the point of being barely noticeable!
You can infer the hospital information from posts I’ve written, so please refer to those... I’m still deciding which hospital to go with.. Honestly, I don’t want to use septal cartilage.. I think I’ll go for one more consultation at Hospital A and then decide~!
