I'll share my LASEK review. My eyesight was very bad. I don't remember the exact vision, but I think it was -4 and -6. Because I had severe astigmatism, they said only LASEK was possible, and I suffered a lot for 5 days.. It felt like shards of glass had gotten into my eyes. Still, after getting it done, I feel like I made the right choice. My quality of life changed. My hospital pick was definitely a large hospital, and I chose it thinking I should go somewhere with good facilities and good surgical equipment. My friend had SMILE LASIK, so I also went trusting my friend. The surgery ended safely and well, and now, in my second year, I am maintaining 1.0 vision in both eyes.
But.. if I had to call something a side effect.. my eyes are so dry.. Especially when I wake up in the morning, it feels like my eyes are going to tear. It helps to put in artificial tears often and use a warming eye massager before sleeping.. Since I have an office job, it may be because my eye fatigue is severe, but I manage it in my own way by wearing blue-light-blocking glasses while working. It is far less painful than the days when my vision was bad and I had to wear glasses every day.
Whether LASIK or LASEK, I highly recommend it! If your eyes are eligible for SMILE LASIK, then definitely.. I recommend SMILE LASIK!
