Hehehehe I found the wrong board, so I organized it and am posting it again here with before-and-after photos from day 7!! lol
Hi. In my early 20s, I was tempted by an event price saying they would do nose surgery for around 1.5 million won, so I had the surgery. During the surgery, I even woke up from the sleep anesthesia, and I got through it by taking psychiatric medication. It has now been 5 years since the trauma hit me hard as an aftereffect.
Usually after a first surgery, people return to daily life within about a month, but for me, the pain + inflammation + swelling continued, and the first hospital just kept prescribing antibiotics, so I lived on medication. Then I wrote that it seemed like a side effect, got sued for defamation, and they made threatening phone calls, so I think I hid away because I was scared. So, please don’t ask about the previous hospital. It was just somewhere in Busan.. haha
I went with a friend and paid for the nose surgery with money I had earned from part-time work, but since it went wrong, I couldn’t talk openly to anyone and just suffered alone. Now, 5 years later, the contracture progressed so rapidly that the silicone was about to protrude (really with only about 1 mm of skin left), so I urgently went to two university hospitals and also did a ton of consultations at famous places like ㄷㄴ, ㅈㅅ, ㄷㅎㄷ, ㄱㅅ, ㄷㅍㄹㅅ, ㅈㅇ... Ah, there are so many I can’t even list them all. Anyway, I really went around everywhere..
Because I live outside Seoul, it was so hard. I was exhausted and spent so much money... Especially early on, I went to ㄷㄴ for a consultation and got turned away, and they recommended Korea University and Asan Medical Center. So I went to those university hospitals too, and they scared me so much, saying it was a difficult surgery and that my condition was serious, that everything went dark in front of me and I honestly wanted to die.
Ah, to get to the point, from my contracted nose, I had Silitex (silicone Gore-Tex) + septal cartilage + Medpor + maybe ear cartilage removed (I’m not exactly sure about the terms).. and then had surgery using autologous costal cartilage + ear cartilage + donated dermis. On day 5, they removed the splint... I really cried at the hospital as soon as the splint came off.
I had desperately wanted to go back even to my old nose, but I was so grateful that they lowered it well.. And they balanced it well too, so even now I feel like bowing in gratitude....
Isn’t the autologous costal cartilage scar seriously amazing? I was shocked when I saw Jessi’s autologous costal cartilage scar.... I had heard the director was known for placing the sutures nicely inside, and he really did it so well that it barely shows.
Hmm, the reason I chose this hospital was because the director was extremely gentle and warm... But because I had been through so much at the first hospital, even during the consultation I wondered if I should secretly record it, and I couldn’t trust them, you know? But not only me, other people who come to this hospital too (I found out through an open chat) said they had never had any problems, but if anything did happen, the hospital provides free A/S for 2 years and everyone praised how they think from the patient’s perspective..
I’m kind of a worrier lololololol, but they really understood every part I was worried about and explained everything well.. They didn’t seem annoyed. And the manager was amazing too. You know when you send KakaoTalk messages about things you’re worried about? They answered even at night and on weekends lolol. I was really grateful and sorry Even though more than half of my messages were basically saying I was in pain, they replied to everything lololololol. Thinking about it now, I’m so embarrassed.
It hasn’t even been a full week yet, so I’ll have to see once the swelling goes down.. But I know that for people like me with a contracted nose, upturned nose, inflamed nose, or short nose, every single day feels like hell.. So I wrote this in case it might help anyone.. If you’re curious about anything, leave a comment. And if possible, please make it a public comment.
