My desired nose - a masculine yet high, straight nose Concerns - hump, thick nasal bridge, bulbous nose
1. Banana Took nose photos and entered the consultation room. The first consultation ended after looking at the photos they took on an iPad. They spoke kindly and said many men come in for surgery these days, and overall explained what would look good and work well for my nose.
After waiting a bit, the director came in. After I talked about the nose I wanted, he touched my nose and said my septal cartilage seemed sufficient, so septal cartilage could be used as the material, and about 3-4 mm of silicone would probably be good. He said that if they open it during septal surgery and it is not enough, donated costal cartilage may be used. He said osteotomy would probably be fine if done, but my nose did not necessarily need it. (My choice.) Because my skin is somewhat firm and thick, he recommended alar reduction, saying it would improve the bulbous nose more effectively. He said doing this would not make the skin look thinner or anything like that. Since skin thickness is congenital, there is nothing that can be done about it. He showed me how the nose shape would be by drawing on the iPad.
He asked if I had any questions, so I asked whether 3-4 mm was too much. He said whether to lower it a bit or go higher is my choice. He simply recommends this if we want it to fit my face well and match what I want, and since the design is done according to the angles, that is why he states the silicone height this way. If I am worried it will look too flashy, I can lower it a bit, or if I want something custom-fit exactly to me, there is also a way to use ㅇㄴㅍ. Silicone height can also be recommended depending on skin thinness. He said that because my skin is on the thicker side, it does not matter whether I go higher or lower for a more natural look. The needs I described overall are for a nose shape that is neither too flashy nor too natural, and if the hump is shaved down, the bulbous nose is corrected, and the nose is raised, he thought this much height would be good, which is why he recommended it. That made sense to me.
He said AS and postoperative care would be handled reliably, and that CCTV could be watched in real time if desired.
2. Baroko I had a CT scan, waited, and then consulted with the director. He explained everything in a way that was easy to understand overall. The director explained things very confidently, and I guess he had a lot of pride? It seemed like he did. He seemed confident in his surgical method and shapes. He said that if I wanted a high, straight nose from the start, I should not go too natural, and that if septal cartilage is insufficient, he recommends mixing in donated costal cartilage or going fully in the costal cartilage direction. I was a bit flustered when costal cartilage came up. Because of the cost issue and also because I would have to think about scarring, I wondered whether I needed to think again about the nose shape. He showed before-and-after photos and said things like, doesn’t this nose shape look good, these are all people who used costal cartilage. He said that if costal cartilage is used, it definitely droops less than other cartilage, and that they absolutely do not operate to make it feel stiff, but will build it up high and beautifully, so I do not need to worry. He showed me with Photoshop what the nose shape might look like. For now, this was a clinic that diagnosed that costal cartilage should be used, and they mentioned 4 mm silicone, saying my nose is on the low side so this would likely make the shape come out well. I thought it was a clinic that goes for a more dramatic style.
Both the consultant and director spoke very definitively about many things, so I could not really have a conversation like, another clinic said this or that. I just said I understood and left. I did not have any questions. They did explain things well.
AS period definitely guaranteed, consultation time was somewhat long because they explained costal cartilage. +Somehow it felt like I had to book right away today, but when I said I would think more, they did not hold me back further.
3. Jayjun Had a CT scan and entered the consultation room. I do not know how I was supposed to interpret it, but they talked about the photos. The consultant and director had good personalities and explained things well. Like the Banana director, he considered facial balance.
He said to use septal cartilage. He kindly explained that the surgery would go in this direction and the line would be like this, and asked what I thought. Silicone also 3-4 mm (same as Banana). He recommended osteotomy (I guess my nasal bridge is somewhat thick), and said alar reduction for bulbous nose correction is actually optional. For women, they want the nose to come out very slim, so it is included that way, but for men, a nose that becomes too narrow does not look good either, so he thought a slight alar reduction would be good, but this is my choice. He answered questions well and explained things easily, which I liked. He did mention ear cartilage, but said my septal cartilage was sufficient, so it probably would not be necessary to use that too. He paid attention to the nasal line I wanted and the materials.
He spoke reassuringly about postoperative care, AS, and the results.
The diagnoses do not differ that much, but I think I need to think more about the materials.
