Review after 3 years of orthodontic treatment

I had orthodontic treatment for 3 years, from my first year to my third year of high school. My teeth were originally crooked, and I had a snaggletooth only on one side, so it stressed me out, but in conclusion, I think I’m glad I did it.

Even while getting braces, I ate pretty much everything. Since they were ceramic braces, except curry that stains them yellow haha. The days when the braces were tightened did hurt a bit, but it was bearable, and there were days I took Tylenol and went to sleep, but if I thought of it as the process of improving my complex about my teeth, it wasn’t that stressful. The most painful time was at the very beginning of orthodontic treatment. Before doing anything with the wire braces, they put some thick rubber band near my molars, and because of that my teeth moved forward overall, so my bite didn’t align, you know? At that time it was hard to close my mouth and hard to eat anything. At the next visit, they removed that rubber band right away, so it got better, but those few days? were so painful that I still remember them even now, years later. Thinking about it now, I don’t know why they did that. I even suspected by myself whether it was to make the before photo look more severeㅠ

Anyway, overall I’m satisfied that I got orthodontic treatment, but there is also something disappointing: my dental midline doesn’t match the center of my faceㅠ In my third year of high school I got my braces removed in a rush, so I didn’t care back then, but after becoming an adult and getting more interested in my face, I noticed that my dental midline was shifted to one side. After becoming an adult, I mentioned it to the clinic, but they were like, your teeth were originally crooked, so isn’t this good enough;; I regret not looking more carefully before getting the braces removedㅠ

And if there’s one thing you really need to be careful about during orthodontic treatment, it’s brushing! Make sure you brush really well... especially between the teeth! Orthodontic treatment is already expensive enough, but I got a lot of cavities and felt so sorry to my parents for having to treat themㅠㅠ Treating between the teeth costs twice as much too! I had braces in high school when I drank a lot of coffee and things like that, but I didn’t brush that much harder, so my teeth got somewhat discolored, and that’s disappointing tooㅠ

Still, they’re better than my teeth before, so I’m satisfied anyway... haha Even if I went back, I’d still get orthodontic treatment, but I think I’d manage and respond to things more wisely!
