Eye shape correction + lateral canthoplasty

Before <before surgery>Before <before surgery>After <immediately after>After <1 week later>After <1 month later>After <2 months later>After <1 year later>After <3 years later>I had surgery in August 2019. After reading reviews of lateral canthoplasty posted on cosmetic surgery-related communities, I chose the place that seemed the best. I made an appointment and went in intending to have surgery right away, but the consultant said she thought I was only there for a consultation and that surgery that day would be difficult. But after exchanging a few words with the director, she said it was possible that day, so I decided to have the surgery.

Originally, I only planned to get lateral canthoplasty, but the director recommended eye shape correction. I was worried because I thought double eyelid surgery wouldn’t suit me, so I asked them to make the line as low as possible. But they said that for eye shape correction, the line couldn’t be set too low either. For the lateral canthoplasty, they said the structure of my orbital bone itself was not suitable for being opened up a lot, so it wouldn’t be dramatically widened.

The surgery was so painful. I’m not the type to exaggerate pain, but it really hurt so much. In the middle, reality suddenly hit me and I felt so upset that I almost cried.. lol Is it normally painful even with anesthesia..?

It took about 2 weeks for the bruising to completely disappear. I think it took about 6 months for the swelling to fully go down. I’m not sure whether the lateral canthoplasty had an effect, but I definitely think I’m glad I got the eye shape correction. I guess the director didn’t recommend it for nothing haha

Now, unless you look really closely, the scar isn’t visible at all, and people don’t even know I had surgery. Other than the fact that the thickness of the line on my right eye isn’t even, I’m very satisfied.
