My nose was an arrow-shaped nose with a hump, so especially when I smiled, my nose looked even longer and the hump stood out more, so I couldn't even smile freely. Because of that, I always wanted to get nose surgery, but when it came down to it, I couldn't find the courage.
But I finally decided to go ahead with the surgery I had kept putting off. After looking around in many places, I chose Director S.J.W. at D.R. Plastic Surgery near Gangnam Station. The reasons were: (1) My criteria were a doctor who specializes only in nose surgery and performs natural surgery rather than excessive correction. I liked Director S.J.W.'s consultation style because it was clean and straightforward, and he did not recommend any procedure beyond exactly what I wanted. Minimal correction - I only wanted the length of my nose to look shorter. (Why? Since I was having surgery at the fairly advanced age of my late 40s, I hoped it would not look obvious.) (2) I also liked the surgical method: no implants such as silicone were used, and the surgery was done only with autologous tissue. (Why? Because inflammation can occur and contracture can develop.) Since I was very worried about side effects, I chose more carefully.
During the surgery, my septal cartilage was somewhat large in size, so ear cartilage was not used, and the surgery was performed using only septal cartilage. The director is so skilled at surgery that there was almost no bleeding during the operation, and because the surgery was done cleanly, only my nose swelled and there was no facial swelling or bruising. Because of that, I had almost no pain after surgery, and washing my hair was not difficult. Since the surgery used only my own autologous septal cartilage, there has been no inflammation at all. It has only been one month, so when I touch my nose it feels like touching someone else's leg, but there is no discomfort at all.
After surgery, people around me almost do not notice. They say they do not even remember that I had a hump or a long nose. Since the area between my eyes did not change, there is no change in my overall impression, and people around me say my face looks neater. My husband says it really does not look like I had surgery. He had been very worried that it would become like a surgically done pencil nose, but he says it is so natural that his fixed ideas about cosmetic surgery until now have been completely shattered.
I am 100% satisfied after surgery. I am so happy that I can smile proudly. Looking at the before-and-after photos, the difference is really huge ㅠㅠ
