1. Top Face - Visit: First impression of the clinic was calm, and even though I postponed my appointment once, they were kind over the phone too. I visited after getting off work at 6 p.m., and there were about three people waiting including me. The wait was less than 10 minutes, so I had been worried because I’d seen reviews saying there are lots of waits at cosmetic surgery clinics these days, but it was so fast that I was just happy. - Consultation order: Director > Surgeon > Director (30-40 minutes) - Director The director first checked my basic information, asked about the surgery I wanted and the method, then tried out the line several times. After that, she said my eyelids and eyelid line seemed one way in her opinion, but we should talk with the surgeon for the exact details, asked whether I had brought photos of eyes I liked, and so on. - Surgeon Because it’s the COVID era, I thought they would just keep the mask on and look only at my eyes, but they asked me to take off the mask and first commented on my overall image before drawing the line for me (this was the part I was most satisfied with). They also explained that although it could be done as a buried suture method, there is usually a chance it could come undone, and that when it comes undone the shape changes like this and that, so they talked a lot about what happens after the surgery rather than only about the surgery itself. They were neat and, since it was my first consultation, they listened well even though I was all over the place. - Director They asked about pricing and whether I had any other questions, and when they talked about the price, I realized they had set a price without discussing eyelid correction with the surgeon, so I was like, huh? and asked about it, and they explained in detail. The free aftercare period was up to 1 year, and the anesthesia fee was charged up to 3 years, so the coverage period was the longest.
I later had a second consultation at this clinic and chose it > Second consultation fee: 10,000 won Reason for choosing > No pressure to reserve at all (they said I should look at other clinics too before deciding) > They first assessed my overall image after I took off my mask > They brought up side effects first and prepared ways to deal with them > The aftercare period was the longest > Eyelid correction + upper canthoplasty + buried suture method (the combination I wanted)
2. Luho - Visit: Since this was the second place I went, I had prepared some questions, but the consultation started even faster than at the first clinic. It felt like I went straight into the consultation room almost as soon as I arrived. - Consultation order: Director > Surgeon > Director (total 10-15 minutes...) - Director They just checked whether I had brought photos of the image I wanted and the treatment method, then moved on to the surgeon’s consultation. - Surgeon As soon as they came in, they asked whether I had photos. I had prepared about 7-8 photos to show them (mostly review photos, not celebrities), but they looked at just one and immediately drew the eye line. I said it seemed a little thick, so I wanted to see it a bit thinner, and they explained carefully that if I had eyelid correction, it would lift upward, so the line would end up thinner than this. The surgeon had a calm rather than friendly image, and when I asked whether I needed canthoplasty, it really felt like they were asking why I would even do that. We talked a lot about the area around the eyes and kept the discussion very eye-focused. This was the first place where I heard that my eyelids were thin and that I would be relatively easy to do with the buried suture method, which gave me confidence in that method. - Director I kept looking at the director’s eyes because they were so pretty, and they explained the pricing and the overall surgical methods. They said there was no need for me to come back for the procedure itself, but I could visit for about a year for follow-up observation.
Because they were famous for revision surgery and also for eyes, I went in with high expectations, but the consultation was much shorter than I expected and they kept moving me between consultation rooms (director > surgeon > director. I moved three times in total). What made me hesitate was that it was clean and nice with eyelid correction + buried sutures without needing canthoplasty, and since they were well known, that was good, but the surgeon seemed to have a very fixed opinion rather than really listening. Of course, it’s not bad to listen to the doctor, but since this was my first surgery and I didn’t know much, I wanted a place where they talked a lot.
3. Highbom Plastic Surgery I’d been looking at reviews while doing my research, and they were so much my taste that I knew I had to go, but I couldn’t get an appointment right away and had to go a little over a week later. I thought, this must be a famous place. - Visit: When I first walked in, nobody said welcome or hello, and they only spoke in very low voices, so I was flustered...(Apparently the surgeons were filming YouTube at the time.) Also, there were more things to fill out. I had to write down the clinics I had visited before and after the consultation, estimated treatment costs, and more. I went to the clinic at 6 p.m. and there was nobody waiting, but the wait was long (YouTube filming). - Consultation order: Director > Surgeon > Director (because there were so many people waiting, I can’t remember the exact consultation time; it was quite long) - Director The director explained everything in great detail. The treatment method (usually it feels like they explain assuming you already know, but here they explained from the beginning), treatment time, what anesthesia method would be used and what I was worried about at the time and that it was okay, they took three photos of my face and explained things (I didn’t take off my mask), the line I wanted, and so on. They told me to feel free to draw the line as much as I wanted. Just because something suits other people doesn’t mean it will suit me, of course! They were so kind, wow, the director was so nice. - Surgeon The surgeon also explained everything in great detail. It felt very professional? They kept drawing pictures and comparing them with photos, and because I kept worrying about the line, they asked about my usual image (makeup style, etc.), made recommendations, and said it was something I could keep thinking about until the day of surgery, so I should take my time. Here, they recommended eyelid correction + buried sutures + lower canthoplasty at the outer corner, but I was too afraid of side effects from the outer canthoplasty, so I said I wouldn’t do it, and since I just wanted a softer impression, they said it was optional. - Director When I asked whether there was someone with an image similar to mine, they showed me photos in a booklet and explained everything in great detail. It got to the point where I wondered if it was okay to ask and be told things in this much detail during a consultation... Thanks to that, I became more certain about my eye line and what kind of eyes I like, and the aftercare period was 1 year, with 6 months of follow-up observation. The price for buried suture + eyelid correction was much higher than at the other clinics, so it was discounted through a review event, but even the review event felt strict compared with others because it required sending selfies plus posting a review. I went expecting them to do natural-looking work well, and the consultation was satisfying enough, but when I asked the surgeon to draw a different line too, they said it would probably not look good, drew it anyway, and then said it didn’t seem right even before I looked at it, which was a bit disappointing. On price, I thought I could pay 100,000 to 200,000 won more if they were good, but there were too many requirements for review photos... and I wasn’t confident in selfies, so my feelings suddenly cooled at the end. Also, other places use disposable sticks, but here they used metal sticks? something reusable. Since I work in a hospital, that sort of thing also stood out a little to me.
I only went to three places over two weeks after work, but I did wonder if if I had gone to more consultations, there might have been another place that attracted me. Still, after the second consultation my hesitation and worries disappeared, so I booked right away... I really should stop looking at the community, but I keep doing it I hope this helps everyone here
