At the hospital where I had my first surgery, I paid extra for columella lowering, nasolabial angle correction, nostril reduction + an osteotomy fee even though there was no osteotomy lol, and had additional surgery, but forget 6 months, from just 1 month in lol the nasal tip came all the way down, one nostril lay sideways and rotated at 90 degrees, and the tip just bent and collapsed like an old cucumber lol
For this revision, they said they would use autologous costal cartilage together with ear cartilage, but they didn’t use ear cartilage and operated only with silicone + autologous costal cartilage. Every hospital I consulted said my nose had been wrecked, so because of the uneven nostrils and nasal tip height, they couldn’t raise it as much as I wanted, and that getting it to about my virgin nose level was the best they could do, and they couldn’t match it perfectly. But at the hospital where I had surgery, I’m already so happy just that they made it symmetrical, and I wanted my nasal tip to go back to my pre-surgery virgin nose, and I think it feels similar. I’m still on day 3 with the splint, so today I only had the cotton removed from my nose, but just seeing that my nostrils are symmetrical makes me feel relieved for now. They said there’s a plastic tube inside my nose, so I’ll know for sure only after that and the splint are removed, but for now that alone is such a relief.
The hospitals I consulted for revision this time showed me cases saying that if I had surgery for nostril asymmetry, it could look even more uneven, and after seeing that I couldn’t do it there lol
Originally, before surgery, my virgin nose had god-tier nostril symmetry and a high columella, so the nasal tip looked high, and the director at one hospital I consulted said it was a good nose for surgery, in the top 1%, and took photos of my nostrils from below lol The first hospital wrecked that kind of nose into one where they said the skin was insufficient so they couldn’t touch the height lol Someone I know was also getting revision and had the exact same case as me, which was surprising, and it turned out they had also come from that hospital lol
For now I’m so relieved that at least the nostrils came out symmetrical, and after I take off the splint, if I’m satisfied, I’ll come back and write a post revealing the hospital name and director’s name lol
I’ve been having such a hard time lately because of nose surgery, so I wrote this hoping it helps friends with similar cases
