My first surgery was over 10 years ago. The clinic closed down several years ago. I kept talking about revision surgery, then thought I should try it before I got older, so I looked at reviews through an app, booked consultations first, and joined this community late. I was anxious because there were no reviews for the places where I requested consultations, but after the consultations, I wanted to hurry and get it done. I was definitely planning to post a review, so I looked into places with review-writing discount conditions. ===============Up to here is copied from my day 1 post.
On day 2, I only consulted at two private clinics.
D. ㄴㅇㄷ_ㅇㅂㅈ: CT scan O, regular photo shoot O, consultation fee X Consultation time 1 hour 5 minutes with no waiting (weekday, after lunchtime) I was most satisfied with the consultants (manager, director)! Usually the manager consultation is longer, but here the director consultation was longer. The manager’s consultation was also quite professional and long, and of course the director explained things even more professionally and in detail. They analyzed the causes of failure from my previous surgery in detail and told me the direction for improving my current face, explaining what kind of image my current image would change into if I had surgery. They also showed photos of similar cases. There was also an explanation of the materials that would be used for each surgical area. During the manager consultation, they said the director would recommend either autologous or donated costal cartilage after checking my condition, but the director told me to use donated costal cartilage. The estimate was also only made with donated costal cartilage. They also scheduled a long surgery time, so the surgery process seems like it would be stable.
E. ㅊㅁ_ㅁㅅㄱ: CT scan O, regular photo shoot O, consultation fee X Total consultation time including waiting was 1 hour (weekday afternoon) Before seeing the doctor, there was a brief questionnaire about my current condition and the surgical direction I wanted. After the CT scan, I went straight to the director consultation without a manager consultation. They asked what direction I wanted to improve in and separately told me what should be improved from the director’s perspective. They said my skin was originally too thick, so improving the bulbous nose might be difficult, which felt devastating, but they gave me a hopeful comment that it was not completely impossible. There was a detailed explanation of the materials to be used for each surgical area. At other clinics, all nasal bridge replacements were silicone, but this was the only place that recommended AlloDerm. They absolutely recommended autologous costal cartilage. They said I should manage my immunity before surgery in preparation for side effects and told me which supplements to take. The autologous costal cartilage estimate was 1 million KRW higher than other clinics. They only do 2 surgeries a day, so the surgery process seems like it would be stable, and they said the director personally handles all postoperative care.
I had also put ㅅㅇㅅㅅㅇㅇ and ㅇㄷ on my list, but for ㅅㅇㅅㅅㅇㅇ, there was a consultation fee, and I thought I might recklessly decide just because the consultation fee felt wasted, so I decided not to go. For ㅇㄷ, consultations were only available from mid-November onward, so I removed it. .. So my footwork for revision rhinoplasty ends here.. If I go to more places, with my indecisive personality, I think my head will hurt even more.. Until before today’s consultations, I watched several videos and had been thinking about donated costal cartilage, but at E, a clinic specializing in contracture, they said donated costal cartilage tends to absorb well, so I should absolutely use autologous costal cartilage, and I got swayed.. I did feel reassured after seeing a review for E saying autologous costal cartilage pain was not that bad.. But it is a 1 million KRW difference for the same surgery as B, so I still don’t know where to do it. Ah, but I don’t think I actually have contracture. C was the only place that said it was contracture...
To roughly summarize: A.
Director consultation satisfaction order D>E>C>B>A Manager friendliness satisfaction order A=D>B>E>C Surgery expectation order E>>D>A>C>B Postoperative care order E>A=B=C=D Estimate order A<B=D<E<<<C
The post got long again today... If I use donated costal cartilage, I’ll go with D, and if I use autologous costal cartilage, I’ll go with E... What should I do ;_;
