Orthodontic treatment at 26

When people looked at my teeth, they said I didn’t need braces, but

my right front tooth was sticking out,

so I felt a subtle amount of stress when I smiled.

My friend was in the middle of orthodontic treatment, so I got a consultation at that clinic,

and they said the right upper molar was tilted outward,

the left molars were not in a straight line and the dental midline didn’t match,

and the upper teeth were jutting out like a beak hahaha

I originally wanted to do partial orthodontics just for the front teeth,

but they said I had to do full orthodontic treatment, so I’m doing full braces now.

It has been 19 months so far (I’m 27 now!)

Next month I’m getting the braces off and moving to retainers,

The advantages are that my teeth have become straight and my mouth has receded a bit.

Disadvantages - I developed a more pronounced nasolabial look (I think it’s because with braces on, I either cover my mouth when smiling or use the muscles around my mouth a lot when wearing elastics),

- My gums have receded (most people get it done in middle school or high school, so I thought my gums would recede a lot because I’m an adult, but I still haven’t developed black triangles) (There are signs, but since I didn’t move the teeth a huge amount, I don’t think the gums have receded severely / they are receding though ㅠㅠㅠ it hurts when I get scaling)

I’m planning to write a more detailed review next month,

but still, I think the advantages are a bit greater and I don’t regret it, so I recommend it!

I think it was a good thing that I didn’t say it was too late ㅠㅠㅠ
