I had lens implant surgery in Busan 3 years ago. A lot of people get ICL, but in my case, the space? inside my eye wasn’t very roomy, so I had surgery with a floating lens called MPL.
I was hospitalized for 2 nights and 3 days and had one eye operated on per day. They use anesthetic eye drops, so the surgery doesn’t hurt. Right after surgery, my headache was much worse than any eye pain, so I remember taking medicine and going straight to sleep. After sleeping and waking up, about 4–5 hours later, the headache was gone and I felt okay. Repeating that twice, and surgery was done! My vision was so bad that I wore soft contact lenses for nearly 10 years, and I hated that I couldn’t wear lenses and had to wear glasses for about a week during the pre-op examination period. Even with the lenses compressed twice, those super thick round glasses really made my confidence drop Anyway, I still go for checkups every year, and my vision has been maintained well without issues, so I’m satisfied.
Originally, without glasses or contacts, I couldn’t even find glasses right in front of my eyes. It feels like Sim Bong-sa regaining sight after the three hundred sacks of rice offering. Life without glasses or contact lenses is truly so comfortable and convenient.
There seem to be fewer cases of lens implant surgery than LASIK or LASEK, but if this is your only option, I recommend it. Your quality of life shoots straight up
