Before-before-after-after, I absolutely wanted a thin and dramatic nose!!! I was so stressed about my broad, flat nose and hump nose, so if I was going to get surgery anyway, I wanted it done dramatically, and for that, costal cartilage was the answer. But I hesitated because autologous costal cartilage taken from my own body would leave a scar, so I searched really hard for a place good at using donated costal cartilage, and I ended up finding a clinic. I had surgery with the director. There seem to be many hospitals good at autologous costal cartilage, but not many that are good with donated costal cartilage, so I really searched hard. I dissolved the nasal filler I had and also had alar reduction done at the same time. For a while after surgery, my nose still felt broad and flat, and it didn’t feel sharp, so I wondered if this was right, but once the swelling went down, the exact nose I wanted came out. The director said that because my skin stretched well, it could fortunately be done dramatically, and that was when I first learned that nasal skin is important in rhinoplasty lol
