Helloh! I'm sharing my review of SMILE LASIK, which I decided to get after thinking and thinking about it~~~
First of all, my eyesight had been really bad since I was young, so I wore daily contact lenses for about 10 years... I'm 24 now, so I started wearing them in middle schoolㅠㅠ Whenever I got glasses made, because of the lens compression they easily cost over 100,000 won. Anyway, I'm one person who suffered so much because of these eyes.
*For someone like me, a total scaredy-cat who distrusted LASIK surgery!! Let me first tell you why I decided on LASIK surgery. It was because, due to all kinds of contact lens side effects like allergies + itching + eye discharge + redness + dryness, etc., I just couldn't bring myself to wear lenses anymore. When I woke up in the morning, I couldn't open my eyes without artificial tears. And even after washing my face, removing eye discharge with a cotton swab was my morning routine..ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ When I visited an ophthalmology clinic to solve the problem, they gave me eye drops, but they said I shouldn't use eye drops while wearing contact lenses,,,?.. Since I wore lenses for at least over 15 hours a day, personally it was impossible to treat the symptoms of lens side effects with eye drops. In the end, I decided to quit the tiresome lens life through LASIK surgery, which I had been considering for years.
*To explain the most important process and reasons for choosing the clinic! After deciding on surgery, the first thing I searched for was a clinic. Since LASIK surgery is so commonly done these days, I first got clinic recommendations from acquaintances around me who had LASIK surgery. I can't reveal it, but I was recommended what seemed like the clinic that performs the most surgeries, so I searched like crazy. But the factory-style surgery system, YouTube controversy, and so on made me not want to do it there ,,,ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ So the next place I chose was ㅇㅅㅇㅇ eye clinic! The biggest reason I chose surgery at ㅇㅅㅇㅇ eye clinic was trust! After deciding on surgery, I searched for related videos on YouTube every day, and somehow I always ended up on the ㅇㅅㅇㅇ eye clinic channel! Since I kept seeing the doctors' faces every day in videos that explained the LASIK surgery I had always been wary of in an easy-to-understand way, trust somehow built up ....ㅋㅋㅋ Also, the director had been involved in research since the early days of SMILE LASIK surgery, so my trust increased even more!!
+ Luckily, there was a free examination fee event going on regardless of whether you had surgery or not, so I booked an exam right away and, for the first time, had a detailed eye examination for the most important things like whether surgery was possible, etc.! There was nothing difficult about the examination itself! But as someone who wore lenses every day, the hardest part was not wearing lenses for about a week and having to wear those heavy glasses.. ㅎ The exam results came out saying that SMILE LASIK was just barely possible!! ㅠㅠ Compared with my bad eyesight, my corneal thickness was above average, so thickness wasn't a problem, but because of my usual habit of rubbing my eyes a lot, my corneal shape was protruding, so SMILE LASIK surgery might have been impossible. However, the director's opinion and corneal strengthening procedure (+500,000 won) made SMILE LASIK possible. Because of my schedule, I couldn't have surgery that same day, so I booked surgery for 4 days after the examination date!
*For the long-awaited surgery review, On the day, they only repeated a brief examination, and after seeing the director, surgery proceeded right away! They put in anesthetic eye drops about 3 times from before the director's consultation until before surgery, (the feeling was dry/stiff, tears streaming) When I lay down in the operating room, they gave me a big stuffed toy, so I hugged it tightly and listened carefully to the director's explanations, and finished the surgery without any difficulty! I didn't feel pain during the surgery, but after surgery I had stinging eye pain. For me, it lasted about 5 hours. I put in the two prescribed eye drops properly on time (I recommend alarms), and the pain gradually disappeared. Daily life is possible from the next day, but I recommend taking about 2-3 days to rest! The most amazing thing is that I could see well right away ,,,ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ Right after surgery, because of pain and tears, I couldn't see 100% perfectly clearly, but I could still see well, so it was so fascinating!! It's now just over a month, and sometimes when I wake up in the morning, it still feels like I woke up without taking my lenses out!! ㅎㅎ
+Three days after surgery, when I revisited the ophthalmology clinic, Director ㅈㅇㅅ, who performed the surgery, checked my progress and said it had healed well without inflammation, so I was so happy At the revisit, my visual acuity came out as 1.2 in both eyes! My target visual acuity was 1.0, so I'm super satisfied + happy
If you have any questions about the cost or anything else, please leave a reply I'll answer sincerely, just as I received helpㅎㅎ
