Three years after getting forehead filler, I suddenly woke up and it felt so tight and painful. I looked in the mirror and there was a lump.. I went to the plastic surgery clinic where I got the filler, but it had gone under and closed lol.. I went to a dermatology clinic, and they said my immunity had dropped, so my body was having an immune reaction to a foreign substance. They said the filler would dissolve after a year, and I knew it might not all dissolve, but I never thought it would become this serious.. Anyway, after dissolving it all, people around me said it looked pretty after being dissolved, but since I had it and then it disappeared, I was dissatisfied ㅜㅠ
So after thinking about it a lot, I got forehead fat grafting, and today, one week later! I got my stitches removed and met the doctor, so I don’t need to go back to the hospital! It’s only been a week, but as someone who has tried both filler and fat grafting, I’ll write down what I felt! I hope it helps people who are anxiously debating whether or not to get fat grafting, like I was. For reference, I was someone who was searching only for side effects until the day before surgery and even considered canceling.. haha (a total scaredy-cat)
- Shape: Compared with filler, when fat is injected, the contour and line spread out more naturally and prettily. With filler, there was some kind of boundary? that I could almost notice. There’s no unevenness, and for a natural look, fat grafting is definitely the way! - Swelling: I’d say the swelling from filler and forehead fat grafting is the same. The major swelling that moves down from the forehead to under the eyes is the same for up to a week. I wondered if it would be worse because it was fat grafting? But it’s just the same as filler. - Pain level: I had sedation anesthesia, but other than feeling it when the fat was being harvested, injecting fat into the forehead felt like it was being put in with a syringe? It was neither more nor less than the feeling of getting filler. - Scars: The needle marks on my forehead are already gone, and the spot on my thigh where they harvested fat was stitched with one stitch along the bikini line, so it’s tiny, about the size of an acne mark. I was worried it would scar, but they made it really unnoticeable, and I’m so grateful for that!!!! lol In forehead fat grafting reviews, thigh bruising looks no joke from day one, but I bruise extremely easily, yet I didn’t get much bruising, which was also fascinating. - What I’m disappointed about: With filler, even as time passed, a small amount remained and looked pretty.. But with fat, now that it’s been a week, every day feels disappointing.. haha I’m worried it might all disappear like this.. But the doctor said I probably don’t need a second round, so that’s a relief.
+ Tip if you’ve decided to get fat grafting Please don’t diet away your belly fat or thigh fat before going. If you don’t have fat, you’re the only one who suffers when they harvest it!!
A lot of people around me also debate forehead filler vs fat grafting. Unintentionally(?), I became someone who has experienced both filler and fat grafting, so while taking a half-day off, I wrote this diligently hoping it would help!!
While reading this, if you know a place that does a good straight-with-slight-curve nose like Karina’s, please share.. haha
