I went for consultations because I’m thinking about getting my 4th revision rhinoplasty.. A brief review of the three places I visited: Misoyu, Chamin, and O&Young.
I currently have nasal contracture, so I’m looking into revision surgery... I just wrote down the parts I personally felt after visiting the clinics, as they came to mind.
1. Director Jo Gil-hwan at Misoyu
The front desk and consultation manager were very kind, and I had seen a lot in the community that the director was blunt, but he was much more blunt... than I expected. Should I say stiff? Still, I could feel his pride? expertise? about surgery. He also explained while drawing pictures.
It was my first consultation, so I had quite a lot of questions.. maybe I asked too many..ㅠ He let out a big sigh, so I felt self-conscious.. It felt like I somehow couldn’t communicate with the director.. I wondered if my comprehension was lacking.. He showed me a lot of before-and-after photos too, but ah.. the noses weren’t my style, so I just said yes, yes.. and left ㅠㅠ
2. Director Min Sung-gi at Chamin
The front desk and consultation manager were very kind, and I naturally thought I’d consult with the manager first, but after filling out the chart and waiting in the consultation room, the director came in.. My first impression was that he seemed a bit sharp? The consultation started right away with the director, and while looking at the photos of me on the screen, he explained things and also explained while drawing pictures.
Since I had a lot of questions, I asked if it was okay to ask them all, and he told me to feel free to ask everything, so I asked everything while feeling nervous, but the director really explained each and every thing.. In a way that was easy to understand.. It was so fascinating, like I had received an education on rhinoplasty? Unlike my first impression, once we talked during the consultation, the director was very hearty. He showed me a lot of before-and-after photos too, and the lines were pretty. Should I say extreme noses? He also showed before-and-afters of really damaged noses, and I thought it was amazing.. But he asked how much I usually drink, and when I said I drink often, he said it’s best to abstain from alcohol for 6 months after surgery if possible, and that managing my condition before and after surgery is the most important. He also told me about supplements that are good to take! But 6 months without drinking.. I did suddenly worry whether I could do it ㅠㅠ Well, of course it’s better not to drink ㅠ
After the director’s consultation ended, I consulted with the manager, and she treated me kindly, and without pressuring me to book, she said to think it over and contact them comfortably. After coming from the first clinic I was extremely intimidated, but I left this clinic feeling good.
3. Director Lee Gyu-ho at Grace O&Young
The front desk and consultation manager were so-so.. I had heard that O&Young had been doing revision rhinoplasty for a long time and was famous, so I went for a consultation. My first impression of the director was that he was kind. Looking at my photos, he explained my nose thoroughly and explained the surgical plan well. I liked that he understood the line I wanted and explained it well. The before-and-after photo lines were pretty too!
And when I tried to ask various questions, if I asked one question, the director would explain for so long... Should I say it felt like an answer + the director bragging? I didn’t even ask all my questions, and during the consultation I got too tired of listening ㅠㅠ so I didn’t ask more and left ㅠㅠ The director seemed to have pride, and it felt like he had a clear direction he pursued? so he was a director I could trust.
The manager also didn’t pressure me, explained things normally, and bye-bye.
All three places told me that I do indeed have contracture, and the plans were almost all similar (contracture... my mental state is a bit shaken..)
*Materials, cost, and things like that will probably differ for each person, so I think it would be most accurate to ask the clinic about those!
I’m debating whether to have surgery at Chamin. I haven’t paid a deposit yet, but my mind is leaning that way. I’m planning to take time off work until December, so I’m trying to do it quickly, but after a month, daily life shouldn’t really be affected, right?
