I got a nose job when I was 20 without really knowing much about cosmetic surgery (back then, I had silicone for the nasal bridge and ear cartilage was used) At the time, it was honestly my first surgery ever too haha My nasal bridge and nasal tip were raised to some extent, so I thought, “This is good enough~” and I’d lived like that all this time... but gradually, the trend? or should I say the technical skill? in nose surgery kept changing lol When I saw noses that had been operated on... the shape looked more glamorous lol and somehow caught my eye more... Even though I had already had surgery, I kept noticing them ㅠㅠ and looking in the mirror once... I did have surgery... but lol I started thinking, “Ah... I should’ve gone a bit more glamorous ㅠㅠ” haha;
A lot of time had passed too... honestly, I think it had been about 10 years since my first surgery, so I wanted to make more of a change.. and I firmly decided to consider revision surgery. Since I had some experience myself, I did a lot of online and in-person research... I narrowed down the hospitals and directors I had my eye on lol and prepared pretty diligently in my own way.
I had already used ear cartilage... and somehow, if I were to have revision surgery, I felt like I would need to use cartilage or material beyond that. When I searched with the mindset that... costal cartilage might almost be confirmed, it became easier to narrow down the hospitals and directors to some extent~ It definitely seems like directors have cartilage or materials they prefer... and I’m not sure whether they don’t use costal cartilage or can’t use it, but there were also directors who avoided it.
After looking through many reviews... I felt that costal cartilage was the answer for the glamorous look I wanted, so I picked a director who handles costal cartilage broadly as well haha
The surgery was revision rhinoplasty, and the silicone in my nasal bridge was replaced with one at a height matching how much my nasal tip was raised! To maximize a slim and glamorous feel, osteotomy was also done! I also had the columella lowered. It was a slight stress for me that my nostrils showed a little from the front, so I had that addressed all at once.
The hardest part of this revision surgery was that at the area where the costal cartilage was harvested, even when sitting or standing, there was a slightly pressed feeling, so it bothered me a bit in the beginning. But as time passes, I can feel it gradually improving, so I’m waiting, thinking it’ll get better with more time~
I’m now 1 month post-op! Every friend I meet says my overall image and vibe seem to have changed into something glamorous and sophisticated lol They even asked for the name of the director who did my surgery lolol Every time I look in the mirror, my face still feels a little unfamiliar... but I definitely feel good whenever I see it haha It’s only been 1 month, but my satisfaction is high.... I think my revision went well!
3 months... 6 months... I’m looking forward to it even more!
