My nasal bridge and nasal tip are both low, and especially because my nasal tip is low, my nose looks very slightly like it has a hump. I don’t want surgery that touches the nasal bridge or nasal cartilage, so I’m looking into alar base reduction. Today I had consultations at the three clinics I saw most often on other communities, but what they said was different, so I’m confused... If anyone has had it done at the three places below, please leave a comment ;)
1. ㅁㅌ -One doctor clinic, consultation fee 10,000 won. -They said I’m not a case that needs alar base reduction, but a case that needs both the nasal bridge + nasal tip raised. They didn’t really recommend doing only alar base reduction on my nose. If I were to do only alar base reduction, they shaped the alar base in two possible ways, and the method I liked was an internal incision, while the method the doctor recommended was an external incision. They said they don’t do external incisions and recommended I go to another clinic. Honestly, the doctor consultation was so short that the consultation fee felt a little wasteful.......
2. ㅎㅇㅂ -Director ㅂ, no consultation fee. -The consultation was really detailed and thorough. They said it’s a problem that would be solved by raising the nasal tip. They said the best method would be raising the nasal tip with autologous cartilage, but that the shape could improve to some extent with alar base reduction alone. They said my nose itself isn’t large, so we should do 3 mm, and that an external incision would be needed. They gave such a sincere consultation that I actually wanted to pay a consultation fee.... But I can’t find many reviews from people who only had alar base reduction there, so I’m unsureㅠㅠ
3. ㅅㅇㅋ -Director ㄱ, no consultation fee. -The doctor consultation was really short.... It felt like about 1 minute 30 secondsㅋㅎ Maybe because I told the consultant I was scared of raising the nasal tip, when I said I had heard at another clinic that raising the nasal tip was more appropriate than alar base reduction, the doctor said that’s a matter of personal preference. The doctor said that, in their view, alar base reduction alone would make my impression sharper than now, said to reduce it by 4 mm, and left... It has the most reviews and the shape they showed me wasn’t bad, but the doctor consultation was so, so short that it felt like a factory-style clinic, so I’m unsure.
Even before the consultations, I knew myself that my alar base wasn’t exactly very wide, but rather spread out because my nasal tip is low. But the nose is such a sensitive area, so I wanted to touch it as minimally as possible and create a sharper impression, which is why I was planning to do alar base reduction as a second-best option... But each doctor says something different, so I’m really confusedㅠㅠ
