Review after facial liposuction

I’ll leave a review for people who are considering facial liposuction.

My body is thin, but since I was young, I naturally had a lot of facial fat, so people would look only at my face and think I was chubby, which was always stressful.

So I got a lot of contouring injections, thread lifting, InMode, and pretty much everything else, but I didn’t see much effect.

So while looking into facial liposuction, the director at this clinic seemed to have a lot of experience, so I ended up doing it at ㅇㅂㅇ. It’s been about a year and a half now, and at the time, there was a package where if you did full facial liposuction (cheekbones, jawline, and front cheek area, if I remember correctly), they would also graft the removed fat into the front chin and insert a few threads. So I think that’s what I did.

After the procedure, from the second day, the swelling and bruising on my face were so severe that it was hard, and the bruising lasted a really long time. Of course it varies by person, but both sides of my face bruised differently. One side was fading, but the bruise on one side around the jowl line didn’t go away even after a month, so I was really worried.

Still, the clinic gives points or something like that to people who had procedures there, and they told me to use them for aftercare. Thanks to that, I got radiofrequency treatment and swelling injections. They didn’t have a huge effect, but they helped.

Anyway, my review after about a year and a half is that my facial line has changed a lot. People around me often ask if I lost weight. There was definitely an effect. Especially for the jawline, I personally feel the effect, but there’s almost no change in the fat around the cheekbones.

But I think it took longer than expected to see this level of effect. Until 3 months after surgery, maybe because of swelling, my face felt uneven. Even up to 8 months, my skin felt hard, and when I lifted my chin, I felt a pulling sensation, so it was uncomfortable. That’s when I realized liposuction wasn’t a simple procedure. Just because you get liposuction doesn’t mean your face becomes slim right away in about a month.

And in exchange for getting a change in my facial line, it’s also true that my skin elasticity has definitely decreased a lot. Now when I pull my skin, it feels like the loose skin of people who suddenly lost weightㅠ And maybe because the volume around the nasolabial folds decreased too, wrinkles formed. One side of my nasolabial fold is slightly deeper.

Anyway, I don’t think liposuction should ever be taken lightly. You need to expect a long recovery period, and it’s better not to expect your face to change dramatically with a dramatic effect. It’s better to think of it as a degree of cleaning up your facial contours.
