3-month review of functional rhinoplasty for a crooked nose + hump nose + rhinitis

After <recent after surgery / after makeup><before surgery / 3 months after surgery><before surgery / 3 months after surgery><recent><recent side view>In mid-July, I had the hump shaved down and had the nasal tip done without an implant [septal cartilage + right ear cartilage]. The before-and-after photos were taken before surgery and at the end of October.

Early this year, I kept not being able to sleep because of seasonal-change rhinitis, so I started looking into rhinitis surgery. Since I didn’t know anyone around me who had had nose surgery, I searched online and stayed in a community for a while, then finally took the shortlist I had chosen with difficulty and visited clinics in person. I ended up having it done at a place with an ENT specialist that was known for revision surgery and natural-looking shapes.

While having rhinitis surgery, I shaved down the hump that had been a lifelong complex, and because it was surgery on an area that had stressed me out for a long time, there were many things I wanted corrected. I had no desire for extra height, so the director handled it according to the amount of cartilage. I still don’t know how many millimeters it is, and I’m not sure if there’s still swelling, but it is high; I’m satisfied with this height too.

At first, I thought about only shaving the nasal bridge, but I think it was really good that I did the nasal tip too. I had really avoided taking side-profile photos, but these days I like my side-profile photos the most. Having a long midface was a complex for me, and by naturally lifting the nasal tip that drooped like an arrow nose, it looks naturally shorter than before surgery.

I was worried about side effects too, and since I wanted a natural shape and proceeded without an implant, I don’t think it’s the kind of sculpted, doll-like nose that other plastic surgery clinics pursue. I like my current nose after surgery so much that I regret more that I only did it now. I should have done it earlier...!
