I had facial liposuction at BYB. For the jawline + double chin, it was 5 areas, and including the compression band cost, I paid 510,000 won! My chin is really small and my lower jaw is slightly retruded, so even though my BMI is in the mid-18 to early-19 range, I had no jawline at all, and from the side my double chin was severeㅠㅠ.. So I honestly didn’t expect a dramatic change like in other reviews (dramatic by my standards.. haha Since I lived with basically no chin, I was jealous even if someone’s jawline just “existed.” Beyond that, if the jawline looked defined! I considered that a dramatic change), and I only hoped that my jawline would come back a bit, and that the double-chin line would show less from the side when taking photos. But it definitely improved a lot!
I had never even been to a dermatologist for anything related to plastic surgery/procedures, and I barely have acquaintances around me who do these things (I’m in my early 20s), so I worried a lot and I think I spent about 2 weeks searching and comparing reviews on several apps for 4-5 hours each day. First, I swell really badly (if I eat something even a little salty and sleep, even my nose/lips swell; if I’m tired they swell like that; if dinner gets late, I swell, etc.), 1. so if there seemed to be some swelling after surgery, I ruled it out. Because it was my first surgery and I didn’t know my skin condition, such as whether I have keloid-prone skin / whether I scar easily / whether bruises last long, 2. I narrowed it down mainly to places with many reviews saying scars/bruises recovered quickly. And since it was my first surgery and I’m easily scared ^^;; I thought I’d 100% shrink back if the consultation manager spoke too strongly or was unfriendly, 3. so I narrowed it down to places said to be kind and not push many other procedures!
So I went to BYB for a consultation, and they recommended chin filler, saying that because I have a retruded chin and short chin, chin filler was definitely needed and that I was the type who would be most satisfied with it. But I still had too little prior knowledge about filler, and I was afraid I might become a case where, from the side, the chin sticks sharply forward like an Indian, so I declined haha. They only recommended it actively, but didn’t push it strongly, so I comfortably declined and proceeded with liposuction only!
The biggest reason I chose BYB was that it was non-incisional, so only needle-hole-sized scars would remain, and after seeing reviews saying swelling/bruising went down quickly because of that, I made my final decision here. The recovery room was also private, so it was comfortable, and since it’s a hospital run by one director, it felt trustworthy, and the director was kind too! The person at the desk consultation was a bit mechanically kind, but well, that doesn’t matter haha. The operating-room nurse was so warm that when I lay on the operating table and they tied my arms, it was really panic + horror, but she comforted me well, so I was less shaky during the surgery!
For me, the major swelling lasted about 1-2 weeks, and from around week 3, the major swelling went down quite a bit and then the hardened lumps started getting bigger. After 3 weeks, I felt like a lot of hardened lumps had formed, but after I got a hardened-lump injection + radiofrequency as aftercare, they got smaller by about half again. (Originally the hardened-lump injection is given after 4 weeks, but I felt like there was a lot, and I had to go see my parents, so I asked if I could get it early, and they said around week 3 was okay, so I went.) But honestly, even while swollen, it looked much cleaner than my original chin, so I comforted myself thinking, “Ah, even with swelling it’s better than before,” and diligently wore the compression band. Oh, the bruising lasted a long time. It seemed to take about 2 weeks for it all to go away? But I think that’s because I wore the compression band too tightly at first, so a strong bruise appeared once along the compression-band lineㅠㅠ That took a long time to fade. The surrounding bruises other than that line went away reasonably quickly like other people’s haha. There are still hardened lumps left, but they said that if they remain even after the hardened-lump injection, they’ll give another injection after a month! I think they’ll keep going down little by little until then, and if I get one more treatment 2 weeks later (one month after the last hardened-lump injection), they’ll almost disappear haha.
Honestly, it wasn’t a small amount of money, but if the effect appears this quickly and the result is decent, I wonder if I should have done it earlier at 20/21; But I’m highly satisfied even now, so haha I think it’s fine.
Oh, I lost about 4 kg compared with before the procedure by dieting at the same time! But even before I gained weight, when I was thinner than this, I know my double chin + chin fat were severe.... This jawline wasn’t made by me losing weight, it was made by the director removing it....I guarantee it.
+) You have to keep in mind that this isn’t a procedure, it’s surgery! You lie on the operating table, get local anesthesia, and they extract it with a cannula, and the process is quite mentally and physically stimulating. If you grip the surgical drape tightly with your heart pounding for about 15-20 minutes, the surgery is over haha Likes 5
