This is my first consultation review that I'm writing down so I can remember it. My nose is similar to Go Joon-hee's nose before surgery. Long, high, large bulbous nose + slight hump + droopy/arrow-shaped nose. Also, my nose is crooked, so my rhinitis is pretty severe too.
Overall, I wanted a natural line (straight-to-slightly-curved upturned line) and improvement in rhinitis, and I went to two hospitals that are known for natural-looking results.
1. ㅊㄷㅊ (private clinic) - Cosmetic: slightly raise the glabella using fascia, raise the nasal tip with septal cartilage to improve the hump and droopy nasal tip; osteotomy on the right side may or may not be done - Functional: improve the bent cartilage related to deviated septum - Cost: cosmetic, 4 million / functional, 2.4 million (insurance claim possible) - CCTV viewing not available - 3 surgeries per day - Overall, the consultation felt short, and they didn't explain the functional aspects in detail. Also, my nose is already long, so if they raise the glabella too, I think it would look even longer, so I probably won't have surgery here.
2. ㅂ(ㄱㄱㅈ) - Cosmetic: does not raise the glabella (because the overall facial asymmetry could look more severe), raises the nasal tip with septal cartilage to improve the hump and droopy nasal tip, no osteotomy (osteotomy may be done during surgery to make the nose look slimmer). Additional bulbous nose surgery. - Functional: cartilage grafting to improve nasal valve stenosis, improvement of deviated septum - Cost: cosmetic, 2.75 million / functional (4.5 million) (insurance claim possible, on condition of writing an app review) - CCTV viewing available - An anesthesiology specialist is on-site - The director's consultation alone lasted over 30 minutes (is that usually normal? It felt long because it was longer than ㅊㄷㅊ) And when he said the reason I can't breathe well is the nasal valve, he pressed the blocked nasal valve area with a cotton swab and told me to try breathing, and suddenly I could breathe really well, so it was fascinating. Was everyone else breathing this well all along... He explained the functional part extremely well and told me all the possible side effects, so I felt I could trust him. (e.g., in 2 out of 10 people, the cartilage can sink and the hump can become worse. Nostril asymmetry cannot all be improved. If the nasal valve is cut, empty nose syndrome? can develop and you cross a point of no return. Since my skin and muscles are thick, even if I have bulbous nose surgery, the bulbous nose may not improve much... etc.)
