I used a lot of energy, from dissatisfaction with my eyes to choosing a clinic, but after surgery, aside from managing swelling and marks, I did not spend much attention or energy on my eyes. That is how little regret I have about the surgery.
Reason I’m satisfied with the surgery 1 - The director’s delicate hand sense, meticulous design to reduce error, and a personality that seemed neat, cool-headed, and thorough. During the first consultation, the director marked the line on my eyes, and there was no pressure on the eyeballs at all. At consultations at other clinics, there was pressure on the eyeballs or anxiety during design, whereas here I could comfortably entrust it to them. I expected the surgery to be delicate as well and entrusted the surgery with peace of mind.
Reason I’m satisfied with the surgery 2 - The part where I clearly chose the image I wanted and the degree of improvement. I didn’t decide from the beginning that I would do an inline crease, but during the first consultation with the director and before surgery, we designed for roughly over an hour, so I was able to clearly decide what I wanted.
The trendy style is a glamorous semi-out crease, but what I consider pretty was “completely natural” and harmonious. Because people have to look at the eyes when talking, I thought giving the other person a comfortable impression was most important. So I made the line an inline crease that is visible only toward the outer side. Conclusion: I’m more satisfied as time goes by. Since I don’t usually open my eyes wide, the line tends to be exposed from the middle, which I like even more.
Reason I’m satisfied with the surgery 3 - My easygoing personality. Since buried suture double eyelid surgery involves tying thread to the eyelid muscle like making pleats in fabric, a certain amount of needle marks remain. Medial/upper epicanthoplasty also leaves lines because the skin is cut with a scalpel. Because I chose an inline crease and a moderate medial epicanthoplasty, the surgical areas are hidden toward the inner side where they are almost invisible, but if you look closely, you can see them. Still, they barely bothered me.
Because it is a buried suture method, there is a possibility it may come undone, but I was told that if it comes undone within 1 year, A/S is available, so I feel at ease. I also trust that they would do it well again.
I think the cost of the surgery was appropriate. Besides what I wrote, there are many other points I’m satisfied with. I liked that the director personally removed the stitches, and I also liked that they adjusted the propofol dosage so the surgery was done between being awake and being drowsy, and that they stopped the medication, woke me up, and checked the line again. Taking everything together, the cost was optimal!
Whenever people around me ask where I got my eye surgery, I recommend it without hesitation.
