2-week facial contouring review. I had been very stressed about my face shape since I was young, so while I had just left my job, I went and got square jaw and lateral cheekbone surgery. Before the surgery, I wasn’t thinking much and was just calm. I should have gone around to consultations and looked up more information, but I went to just one place and booked right away, so I think that made me even more like thatㅠ It was reckless^^
-Day of surgery- It seriously hurt like crazy. My cheekbones didn’t hurt, but my jaw hurt so much. The throbbing pain was bad, so I had a pain-control injection on and asked for more painkillers... I was full of regret, seriously wondering why I said I’d do this. Bloody phlegm kept coming out, but it was hard to spit it out, and my nose was blocked so it was hard to fall asleep. If I’d known it hurt this much, I don’t think I would’ve done it. I was hospitalized for a day with drains in my mouth, and that was uncomfortable too.
-Days 1-7 after surgery- They removed the drains the day after surgery, and the feeling was seriously weird lolㅋㅋㄱㅋ They had a hair-washing service, so I washed my hair the next day, and it felt so refreshing. Until about day 3, my face swelled up a lot, and I looked seriously ugly, so I kept only thinking, why did I do this, and it hurt like crazy. Still, after 3 days, the pain eased a bit. On day 7, I had the sideburn stitches removed. Even just that felt a bit refreshing. Until day 7, even porridge was hard to eat, so I only had liquids. Thanks to that, I lost a lot of weight.
-Days 7-14 after surgery- Now the swelling is slowly starting to go down. The cheekbone area goes down quickly, but the jaw swelling is too muchㅠ It has gone down a lot compared with the beginning, but it’s still full of swelling. Especially the swelling in my chin feels firm, so that’s the most uncomfortable. Other than the discomfort from the stitches inside my mouth, it’s bearable. On day 14, I had the stitches inside my mouth removed, and tears were streaming down. It felt like they were cutting my gums, not removing stitches. The stitches are out, but the tissue hasn’t fully healed yet, so I’m planning to keep eating only liquid foods for a while. Still, after removing the stitches, it feels so comfortable. Sensation is all normal except for my chin. Even my chin only feels numb in one area, and the rest is normal.
If anyone here is planning facial contouring, please think it over a hundred times. Recovery is seriously so hard...
