I am a woman in my 30s and have currently scheduled my fifth eye revision surgery, waiting for the surgery date. Although I have experienced four failures, this is my first time writing a review. I even joined this community because I desperately wanted to see real reviews of the clinic where I am about to have what I feel is my final surgery.
My first surgery was at a small neighborhood plastic-surgery clinic when I was a high-school freshman. I knew nothing and followed a classmate because her result looked good. They said my eyes were asymmetrical and performed ptosis correction on only one side, but the result was a disaster. The eye that did not receive correction became relatively weaker at opening, leaving me with severe asymmetry and high, puffy sausage-like eyelids. Until I had revision surgery, I constantly heard people say, “Did you just have double-eyelid surgery?”
After two years, I decided to have revision surgery at [Clinic A] in Seomyeon, the clinic I am reviewing now. The reason was simple: at that time, it was difficult to find a plastic-surgery clinic in Busan specializing in revision surgery. I had not even seen review photos, but I believed it would be better than before and went ahead. The result was so bad that I almost missed the sausage phase. The asymmetry improved, but my eyes became perfect inner double eyelids; when open, they looked like monolids, and they looked even smaller than before revision, which upset me.
The director said that even raising my crease slightly would make it sausage-like and that this was the only possible approach. However, several years later, my third and fourth surgeries at other clinics raised the crease again, proving it was possible. I do not know whether this reflected the director's preferred aesthetic or a strategy to achieve a 100% success rate in sausage-eye revisions, but the result was so natural that no one could tell I had double-eyelid surgery. I searched through my photo album and found an old photo of my eyes, so I will attach it. Please note that even with an editing app that enlarged my eyes to some extent, this was the result.
Now, before my fifth surgery, I was searching through reviews everywhere because I was afraid of returning to the inner double eyelids from my revision at [Clinic A]. Only now, 14 years later, did I learn that many people who had revision surgery at [Clinic A] had cases like mine: the crease was too thin and looked like a man's double eyelid, it was unsuitable for people seeking glamorous eyes, and they were eventually considering another revision to raise the crease again.
There are many hearsay posts saying this clinic is famous for revision surgery, but actual reviews and photos from people who had surgery there are extremely hard to find. To quote one person's post, there may be so few attractive post-surgery eyes in the review photos that there are not many photo reviews. If you are considering revision surgery at [Clinic A], please think it over very seriously. I hope you do not end up undergoing revision surgery for the nth time like me. I will continue with reviews of my third and fourth surgeries in the next post (a review of receiving ghost surgery at a large factory-style clinic that appeared on a Seoul makeover program).
