Cheongdam JYJ Hospital Director Oh Se-hyeon I came with a reservation deposit, so including the exam fee, CT scan fee, and reservation deposit, I paid 210,000 won
I went on Saturday and there wasn't much waiting. I got the CT scan first, then went into the consultation room and talked with the coordinator, who was explaining my rhinitis inflammation while looking at the CT... I wondered, is this right?? She wasn't a nurse, just a consultation coordinator. Anyway, I've had rhinitis since I was young, so I already knew I had a deviated septum and enlarged inferior turbinates, but it was my first time hearing about the nasal valve. I knew the nasal valve issue was tricky for insurance coverage, but she said all three items would be covered even before the doctor had seen me. Anyway, when I said first that the nasal valve part was usually difficult for insurance coverage, only then did they say they'd prepare all the necessary documents. But that nasal valve part seems to be the same at every hospital. Basically, before surgery they say it can be covered, and if it doesn't come through, that's that, so for anyone considering functional rhinoplasty, it would be good to get checked at a university hospital first and then go.
The cost came out to 450 for the three rhinitis items + 230 for cosmetic bridge augmentation (they grind and harden rib cartilage before placing it) and autologous rib cartilage for the tip, with a 300,000-won same-day reservation discount, so if all three rhinitis items are covered as the hospital said, I'd end up paying about 3.2 million won out of pocket.
For me, rhinitis is the priority, and I went there because I absolutely did not want to use silicone. At first I reserved because they use ground rib cartilage, I thought there wouldn't be warping, and so on, but after looking for reviews, there were a lot of bad things like it being resorbed or hard to remove, so I'm worried. Of course there are side effects with any surgery, but I don't mind if it gets resorbed and the bridge gets lower. What I'm worried about is whether it might resorb unevenly and become bumpy...
This week I'm going to a university hospital and then to a consultation at ㅂ. ㅂㄹㅋ, I'll post a review then too
