1. Consultation with the director: *Wait time - about 1 hour (the previous surgery ran long, so the consultation started later than scheduled and the wait became long) I had surgery in the past for a septal fracture, and later had revision rhinoplasty together with functional nose surgery for a deviated septum, but it became crooked again, so I consulted for a second revision. Autologous costal cartilage and dermal grafting were recommended. They compared the CT images and face photos that had been taken and explained the current problems with my nose (they matched the problems I had thought of). They used Photoshop to draw how I might look after surgery and explained the postoperative nose shape, and also explained the surgical method in detail using a nose model. They explained various rhinoplasty methods and suggested alternatives, so it looked professional. Personally, I like my current nose height, but they suggested making it higher. (Do they like a more dramatic style? While I was waiting at the clinic, there was a clinic book about several rhinoplasty cases performed there, maybe cases they had published in journals, anyway, and there was a case in that book similar to my nose, so I looked at it carefully, and I liked the nose shape in that case.)
2. Consultation with the consultant: It was my first revision-surgery consultation, and my appointment date had suddenly been moved up, so I couldn’t ask the questions I should have asked. They carefully explained one by one the surgical methods I discussed with the director and the parts that could be seen as possible drawbacks if those methods were used. (I hadn’t thought of those parts in advance... and I couldn’t ask the director, but at least they told me first like this, and it was good that they sufficiently told me what I needed to consider.) They first said the surgery fee was expensive compared with other clinics, but I was surprised because the amount quoted was much higher than I had expected.
+ The part that made me think the director performs the surgery personally! When explaining the surgical method, they said that doing it this way would make it hard to disinfect the surgical site and would make the surgery time longer...;;;; (I was flustered because they talked about parts that could be inconvenient for them as the person doing the surgery.) Anyway, they said they only do 2 surgeries a day(?). I think they could operate while maintaining good condition. But since it took a long time even to book the consultation... if I book surgery, I wonder if that surgery date would also be pushed far back.
Since I live outside Seoul and work, making time for consultations is really difficult because there are so many time and location limitations. I really want to make this the final revision surgery and put an end to it, so even though it will be hard, I want to visit as many places as possible and succeed. For now, ㄷㄴ was my top pick, so I got a consultation there, and my second choice was ㅇㅇ, but their consultation date is also as delayed as the place I consulted at. Before then, I decided to get as many consultations as possible, so I booked ㅁㅌ, ㄱㄹㅇㅅㅇㅇㅇ, and ㄹㅂㄹ. Has anyone succeeded with revision surgery for a crooked nose...?
