[Clinic A] — surgeon consultation, no consultation fee, ultrasound available. Appointments were backed up about a month, so I gave up. [Clinic B] — surgeon consultation, consultation fee 10,000 won, ultrasound available. [Clinic C] — surgeon consultation, consultation fee 10,000 won, ultrasound available. [Clinic D] — surgeon consultation, no consultation fee, ultrasound available; Myeongdong location. [Clinic E] — surgeon consultation, consultation fee 20,000 won, ultrasound available.
For reference, my height-minus-weight figure is 115, and I consulted about the arms and accessory breasts. Many places suggested an arms + accessory breasts + armpits + shoulders package. I didn’t research hospitals charging over 4 million won because they were outside my budget.
I won’t repeat every detail from my previous reviews. [Clinic A]: surgeon consultation; I went when there was no consultation fee, but I heard there is one now; ultrasound available; incisions at the armpit and elbow. They said arm liposuction appointments are difficult these days, so I probably wouldn’t choose it here. I visited this spring, and even then they said the price would rise the following month. The surgeon was very kind and explained everything in detail, including a PowerPoint presentation from the start. They use an AI program, but it seemed more like a simple calculation algorithm with a few inputs than true AI, so I didn’t think the result could be perfectly accurate. I trusted the ultrasound assessment much more. No same-day booking discount or pressure, perhaps because I was referred by an acquaintance. The price was in the low 2-million-won range in spring but has risen to the high 3-million-won range now, so I gave up.
[Clinic B]: surgeon consultation; no ultrasound; armpit and elbow incisions. There are two surgeons, and the consultant recommended choosing the other surgeon rather than the chief surgeon if cost was a concern. I probably would still have chosen the chief surgeon. They seemed willing to say when something was not possible. If you want an extremely skinny, bony-arm result or expect the surgeon to make the impossible possible, you may not be a good match. They said my muscle mass was high, so becoming extremely slim-armed would be difficult, and that the extraction amount would not be large enough for a dramatic effect. I thought they were very conscientious. Same-day booking discount available, though it seemed minor.
[Clinic D]: surgeon consultation, uncertain; some people reportedly did not get one, but I acted as if I would book surgery, so they seemed to arrange it. No ultrasound; armpit incision only, as I recall. Basically, there seemed to be only a consultant’s appointment. A tip: if you say you are considering surgery, the surgeon may also see you lol. I really was considering it. The consultant asked by radio whether the surgeon could see me, and fortunately the surgeon had time. When I said I would make my final decision after visiting my other scheduled consultations, the consultant seemed displeased, which made me nervous. Only people who do not mind that should try to get a surgeon consultation. The surgeon was kind. Same-day discount available, with fairly strong same-day booking pressure.
[Clinic F]: surgeon consultation, no consultation fee; no ultrasound; armpit incision only. The consultation was rather plain, and the hospital atmosphere was similar. I didn’t mind that, but they did not offer especially detailed guidance such as showing before-and-after photos. If you do not bring a proper question list, the consultation may end quickly. They do not proactively explain much. The price was extremely low, but aftercare was almost nonexistent, so I recommend it for people living far away who find it difficult to travel for aftercare. The quoted price already included aftercare.
[Clinic G]: surgeon consultation, no consultation fee; ultrasound available; armpit incision only. This was the only place that said I did not need armpit and shoulder-area treatment. Perhaps because each area is treated separately rather than as a package. Adding everything makes the cost rise dramatically, so I would not recommend it if you want multiple areas treated. The consultant was extremely kind and thorough, so I could ask everything I wanted. The surgeon consultation ended very quickly because I had already asked the consultant all my questions.
Consultation satisfaction: [Clinic A] > [Clinic G] > [Clinic B] > [Clinic F] > [Clinic D] Incision satisfaction: [Clinic G] = [Clinic D] = [Clinic F] > [Clinic A] = [Clinic B] Aftercare satisfaction: [Clinic G] > [Clinic A] > [Clinic D] = [Clinic B] >>> [Clinic F] Price satisfaction: [Clinic F] >>> [Clinic B] > [Clinic D] = [Clinic G] > [Clinic A]
A detailed consultation does not necessarily mean the surgery will be meticulous. Many people say you have to go to a separate aftercare shop anyway. Hospitals appearing in recommendation posts or comments are likely to involve brokers, though I did not automatically exclude them because many brokers do not necessarily mean poor skill. Still, I dislike hospitals with viral marketing everywhere. Do not blindly trust hospitals frequently praised either; realistically, people are much more likely to return to a community to criticize a failed result than to recommend a successful one^^ Some hospitals reportedly ask patients to retouch review photos; check this at the final stage before deciding.
