Taking off the splint felt like a whole new world. I had surgery on Saturday, and the splint was removed the following Friday. I loved the shape!! Even right after the splint came off, I really liked how it looked!! Once the swelling goes down and the tip drops a bit, I think it will be perfect!! If everything stays fine from here on out, I hope it keeps going that way Removing the external stitches did not hurt at all, to the point that I barely noticed it. But when they took out the patch? they had left in my nose, tears really did well up... I was already scared, so that made it even more frightening. They were wiping the inside of my nose with cotton, and the pointed part of the forceps would occasionally hurt After they removed the splint, they scrubbed my face hard with alcohol, and it got into my eyes so I really thought I was done for... I wish they had been gentler... Anyway, once the splint and the patch inside my nose were removed, I could breathe, and I finally felt like I could live again!! Every day I gently clean my nose with cotton swabs, and um... some rather shocking things come out, but it feels refreshing in its own way. I can see a scab deep inside my nose and really want to take it out, but I'm waiting for it to come out on its own. The outside bleeding is still a little there. The runny nose was pretty bad on the day of removal, but after that it suddenly got much better. It's been about ten days now, and it no longer runs down in streams. There is almost no pain, so it's tolerable!! Once I get the stitches inside my nose removed, the big stuff will all be done!!
