Nose Surgery Reviews

How does it look right after removing the splint?!!

My nasal bridge kept collapsing, so I had revision rhinoplasty using autologous costal cartilage for the tip. How does the swelling look for one week post-op?? I took these right after coming home after removing the splint, with a thick layer of ointment applied!! I expected the area between my eyebrows to look higher and more awkward at one week, but it was less than I thought, so I was slightly surprised. They said that is because I naturally lose swelling quickly, and there is no need to worry because the middle of my bridge will not suddenly cave in as it did before. What do you all think?? Is this swelling okay for one week post-op?

Since this was revision surgery and autologous costal cartilage was the only suitable material left for me, I had no choice but to have a rib incision, but it hurts less than expected and the incision is small, so I think it is okay. When I went around for revision consultations, I was told I would need autologous costal cartilage and thought the world was ending, but now I am actually satisfied because I feel it will hold up well.

The tip is still firm and numb, but it definitely feels more supported than after my first surgery. I am waiting to see how it goes because they said sensation and some of the texture should gradually return over time!

Now that the bridge has regained its three-dimensional definition, my protruding mouth looks less pronounced too, so I hope the swelling goes down soon
