Here, the doctor recommended using fascia. I asked what would happen if the fascia were eventually absorbed, and the doctor said something along the lines of putting in filler in that case, which made me go, “Huh?”… I did not want to think about filler starting from my first surgery, so this part gave me pause.
Still, the doctor seemed to have strong pride in the surgical method and experience, and explained reasonably well why fascia would be used. The consultation itself did not feel insincere, and I got the impression that the doctor was confident in the technique.
Personally, I do not want fascia used in my first surgery, so I plan to put it on hold for now. I will use what I heard in the consultation as a reference, look into more hospitals, and then decide.
