It has been a week since my three-part facial contouring surgery, so I am writing a review!! I had cheekbone reduction, square-jaw reduction, and chin surgery. I deliberated for a long time before surgery, then finally made up my mind and went ahead. The day of surgery, I was out of it and physically more exhausted than expected, so all I could think was that I wanted to go home quickly, lol. Days one and two were the hardest, and my face looked completely unfamiliar… The swelling suddenly became severe, and I was startled every time I looked in the mirror. My cheeks and jaw were especially swollen, making my face look completely puffy, haha. I could not open my mouth much, so eating was more uncomfortable than expected at first. I mostly ate porridge and soft foods, and taking it slowly made it manageable. Around day three, I felt a little better than at first, and I went to the clinic for a follow-up and care. The bruising was not bad enough to bother me, but the swelling is still no joke, lol. From days four to five, I tried to move around little by little and not stay home all the time. My face definitely seems to be settling downward gradually compared with the beginning, but it still looks like an immediate post-surgery face to anyone, so I do not think it is time to judge the result. Around day six, the shape seemed a little more organized than right after surgery, so I kept looking in the mirror, lol. My jaw still feels tight and opening my mouth wide is uncomfortable, so I am careful when eating. The week felt longer than expected… It feels like waiting for the swelling to go down day by day, haha. Still, I am relieved that recovery so far seems fairly manageable compared with what I worried about most before surgery. There is still a lot of residual swelling and the actual result has not appeared, so it is too early to judge satisfaction based on my current face. I just hope the major swelling goes down quickly and that by one month I will look much more natural!! I think the first week is simply a period of fighting the swelling, so I am recovering slowly, haha. I plan to keep recording how my face changes through week two and one month!!
