A clinic that makes the medial epicanthoplasty uneven

Lately, while looking into revision eye surgery and rhinoplasty, I found out about a community site through a friend’s recommendation! I’ve gotten a lot of information from it, and I also wanted to be of at least a little help to the members, so I’m going to share my cosmetic surgery review! Three years ago, at Apgujeong & Plastic Surgery Clinic in Sangmu District, Gwangju, I had medial epicanthoplasty + double eyelid surgery (incisional) for 2 million won (they made it a bit cheaper because I paid in cash, and the originally quoted price was in the low-to-mid 2 million won range!). I don’t know how things may have improved there now, but I had many points of dissatisfaction with that clinic. To list a few reasons:

1. Before the eye anesthesia, I was briefly put under sedation, then after the eye anesthesia was done, the surgery was performed while I was awake (= with only my eyes under local anesthesia). At the time, the doctor performing the surgery chatted idly with the nurses and even played music and sang along to it while operating. During the surgery, I was worried and anxious that the result might go wrong.

2. As a result, the line itself is okay, but when I close my eyes, there is uneven raised flesh along the line (scarring).

3. The medial epicanthoplasty turned out uneven, so close acquaintances noticed that the shapes of the inner corners of my eyes are different. Especially when I take ID photos or profile photos, the inner corners of both eyes look clearly different, and it really stresses me out.

I had eye cosmetic surgery when I was young, so I lacked information and chose the clinic without doing thorough research. Because of my carelessness at that moment, I’ve been regretting the surgery for nearly three years. Unlike me, I hope everyone looks up as many reviews and as much information as possible and makes a careful decision! My cosmetic surgery review is a very honest post written after quite a lot of time has passed! I hope you’ll just use it lightly as a reference :)
