It’s been about 13 years since I had LASEK at an ophthalmology clinic in Daegu (not ㅁㅌㄹ or ㄴㄴ).
I originally had severe astigmatism and poor eyesight, so I always wore damn glasses lol. My astigmatism was about -2.5 and -2.25, and I think my myopia was around -6 diopters.
Other factory-style eye clinics basically pushed implantable contact lenses really hard, almost forcing the recommendation, but seeing people who had surgery around that time develop side effects from implantable contact lenses themselves (cataracts, etc.), I feel glad I didn’t do it...
Thankfully, although I didn’t have a lot of spare corneal thickness, it was just enough to have surgery, and the result was really good, about 1.2 in the left eye and 1.5 in the right eye.
Recently, because I use my phone while lying down so much, my vision has dropped a bit, but at a health checkup not long ago, it was still about 1.0 and 1.2.
Personally, I do think LASEK is really mentally hard until vision improves, but compared with other vision correction surgeries, I feel the prognosis may be pretty good. I’ve kept the clinic private because the director who did my surgery may have moved, and I can’t find it even when I search.
