In conclusion, I think it’s better not to get orthodontic treatment if you don’t have any functional problemsㅠㅠ Because if you proceed just for the aesthetic effect, your gums can become weaker, your teeth can become more prone to cavities, and even after orthodontic treatment is finished, they can gradually shift if you don’t manage them well.
I had Class III malocclusion, but it wasn’t quite a protruding lower jaw; it was Class III because my upper jaw was small. I also had a snaggletooth on my upper teeth.
But they said it seemed possible to proceed without extractions, so I had braces for two and a half years starting when I was 22.
I’m really happy because my teeth became even and functionally I now have a normal occlusion, but since there aren’t only advantages, if you’re doing it only for aesthetic reasons that aren’t serious... I don’t recommend it..
