Eye Surgery Reviews

3-year review after double-eyelid surgery

I had ptosis correction and double-eyelid surgery. At my first consultation, we decided not to do epicanthoplasty, but right before I entered the operating room, they suddenly suggested doing it, which was a little confusing. I was originally too scared and had decided against epicanthoplasty, but now I sometimes think I should have done it. I had surgery because I wanted a natural look. There was less swelling than expected, and no pain at all. Everyone around me says my eyes look pretty, and I’m satisfied with the result itself. However, I was somewhat disappointed with how they responded when I mentioned discomfort after surgery. I had ptosis correction, but when I keep my eyes relaxed, they look slightly sleepy, and I feel I have to use quite a lot of force to open them properly. When I mentioned this, they said I was supposed to go around keeping my eyes tense and that I simply had to live that way. I’m satisfied with the line and appearance, but I wish they had examined or explained the actual discomfort in more detail. I wonder whether anyone else has eyes that look sleepy when relaxed and needs to use a lot of force to open them after ptosis correction.
