BeforeBefore<As soon as the pimple in the middle (not sure if it was inflammation) healed, the same thing appeared below it>My first surgery was in June 2023 last year, and I had silicone for the nasal bridge, septal cartilage for the nasal tip (extension graft), hump reduction, and slight narrowing of the nasal width (osteotomy).
The reason I decided on removal was that about 1 year and 2 months after surgery, a red spot that I couldn’t tell was a pimple or inflammation appeared on the nasal tip ㅜ After one disappeared, a second one appeared in the same shape.
I thought the nasal tip only had septal cartilage, meaning my own cartilage (when I had the removal surgery, I heard there was mesh too..), so each clinic said it was still too early to judge and that the chance of inflammation was low. But that pimple or inflammation just gave me a bad feeling, and strangely, it didn’t hurt even when I pressed itㅜㅜ It felt odd that it didn’t hurt..
In the end, I had removal surgery. If you look at my previous post, there’s a consultation review! The procedure was silicone removal, removal of the septal extension graft (returning to a state where I can make a pig nose), and if the nose seemed upturned, reinforcing it by adding septal cartilage.
For sedation anesthesia, you have to fast for more than 6 hours, and fasting and disinfection were harder than the surgery itself ㅠㅠ The hospital was far too, and before surgery they disinfected my whole face and inside my nose, but the smell was so awful it was hard to endure ㅠㅠ A little of the medication also went down toward the back of my nose (they said it was okay if a little went down).
The surgery took about 1 to 1 hour 30 minutes. After arriving at the hospital, I waited in the waiting room, washed my face, they trimmed my nose hairs, disinfected my face, gave me sedation anesthesia, and as the surgery ended, the anesthesia slowly wore off. I walked to the waiting room and was getting an IV. It finished quickly, and the doctor showed me everything removed from inside my nose (silicone, septal cartilage, capsule, mesh). They said I could take photos too. Then they put on a splint and I came home. They said I have to keep the splint on for about 3-4 days. Maybe because I was prescribed medication with painkiller ingredients about 3 times, I don’t feel much pain. It just feels like the splint is pressing a little + a bit throbbing and tight.
And I didn’t know there was mesh (an artificial material) inside my nose (the previous hospital didn’t tell me). They said inflammation could have occurred because of that, or it might not have. I thought there was only septal cartilage in my nasal tip, so I had been wondering why the tip was red ㅜㅜ Anyway, since I removed it, I won’t have nose surgery again now. I haven’t taken off the splint yet, so I don’t know the shape, but my mind feels so, so at ease!!! ㅜㅜ
