It’s been a little over a month since I had septal extension surgery. My whole nose aches and feels heavy, with a sense of pressure. When I scrunch my nose, there are pulling sensations, and I thought this was a foreign-body sensation from the septum.
When I asked the clinic, they said that because it was an open approach, the tissue forms scar tissue, and this is pain felt during the healing process. But then I think most people who had open surgery should feel this too, and for me this heaviness is really too hard to bearㅠ Is what the clinic manager said correct?
I said I wanted to have it removed because it feels like pain caused by the septum. They said that at one month, the wound is still healing, so if I have removal surgery, I’ll have to go through this kind of pain again. So they told me I absolutely have to wait 6 months. Since I’m only 1 month post-op and can’t have it removed, I’m waiting, but it’s so hard. And if it really isn’t a septal foreign-body sensation, but pain from the post-surgical healing process that continues even after 1 month, then honestly, if removing the septum doesn’t make the pressure and pain go away, removal wouldn’t seem meaningful either.
Please give me advice on whether what the clinic manager said is really correct.
