I had three types of facial contouring surgery, and since facial contouring itself is talked about a lot because of side effects (sagging, nonunion, etc.), and since my face wasn’t extremely angular to begin with, I had doubts about whether I should do it. But in the end, I made up my mind and had the three procedures, so I’m leaving this as a record.
d-1 I was so nervous the day before surgery that I couldn’t sleep. I searched for reviews until dawn and felt like I was going to lose my mind. After not being able to sleep like that, I suddenly fell asleep and overslept.. lol haha..
d-day (9/16) My surgery was at 10 a.m., and I was supposed to be there by 9, but I overslept.. Without even feeling nervous, I got in a taxi and went straight there. I arrived at 10, talked with the director, and since I had already gone in for a second consultation before surgery, it was a consultation to review once again what we had discussed last time.. After finishing the consultation, I signed that I had listened to the explanation well,.. Then I went into the operating room.. The last thing I remember was seeing them put the photos I had printed out on the cabinet, then seeing the anesthesiologist’s face once, and I fell asleep. When I woke up, the surgery was over.
When I woke up, it wasn’t pain so much as “dizziness”.. It felt like I woke up in a daze? Anyway, when I came to, the surgery was all finished, and my face felt kind of numb.. A little later, the director came and reassured me that the surgery had gone well, then left.
I didn’t have the commonly mentioned sore throat from general anesthesia, and I didn’t have bloody phlegm either, so it was more bearable. But the pain wouldn’t settle down, so I kept asking for painkillers.. Especially before the first 4 hours had passedㅠㅠ It got to the point where they said they couldn’t give me any more!! It hurt a lot, but after about 4 hours, it got a bit better.. I didn’t have nausea or anything like that.. I spent the day in the hospital room, sleeping and waking up.
d+1 When I got home, my face got huge like the “fan lady”.. They said swelling continues up to 72 hours, so I sensed it was starting now. It really didn’t feel like my face.. It was like the entire outline of my face had stretched outㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ like Thomas. I understood why people say the meme of a dog stung by bees is exactly what you look like on days 1 and 2.. My face really feels like it’s going to burst..
d+2 It didn’t go down at all and started swelling even moreㅋㅋㅋㅋ wow, so a face can swell this much.. It feels like all my pores are going to stretch out.. It feels like it’ll burst.. I’m even anxious whether it’ll be okay like this. Maybe because it’s so swollen? I don’t know why, but next to both cheekbones? toward the lower side, there are round sunken areas like dents.
d+3 My face is still puffed up, and I can feel tightness around my teeth inside my mouth. My outer appearance is so swollen that there’s nothing I can do.. (I’m slowly getting tired of only having liquids too.) It doesn’t look like there’s any change, but the swelling from day 2 has moved down toward my neck, so my neck has also become puffy.. Right now I’m so swollen that I can’t gauge whether the surgery went well or how much softer my facial line has become.
For now, that’s the end of my facial contouring diary up to day 3.
