Eye Surgery Reviews

I’ll share my review of consultations for my third double-eyelid revision—please help me choose!!

About fifteen years ago I had incisional double-eyelid surgery without ptosis correction or canthoplasty. It turned out ordinary and I lived with it, but two years ago I thought I should redo it because my lids had become very droopy—and it went terribly wrong. Sausage-like folds, wavy lines, and breaks. The line shape was not even remotely what I wanted. My eyes were not an obviously easy case, but they were not extremely difficult either, so I could not believe there are still doctors who ruin cases like this... I was far too careless.

So I took plenty of time and went to consultations for a third revision. I visited about five places, but these were the ones I was considering:

1. Yullim. I had heard many times that they are good at revision surgery, and the consultation was fine. The coordinator was kind and the atmosphere was good. No pressure to book on the day, which matters to me. Revision double-eyelid surgery was around 3.5 million won with the review-event price.

2. [Clinic B]. I had consulted the surgeon two years ago when he was at another clinic and had planned surgery, but could not proceed. He still explained things well. The estimate was revision double-eyelid surgery plus very slight ptosis correction and micro-fat grafting. He said it would be good if fat settled where adhesions were released. Since I am older and my upper lids are slightly hollow, it did not seem like a bad idea. No same-day booking pressure here either; the staff are cool and do not force excessive friendliness, which I prefer. The review-event price was 4.95 million won. They also seem to provide swelling lasers or injections well.

3. [Clinic C]. I most recently consulted Dr. D. Only Dr. D requires a 50,000-won consultation reservation deposit, which is refunded afterward; they said not to cancel on the day. From waiting at the appointment time through consultation and receiving the estimate took over an hour and a half, though it ended earlier than the two and a half hours they told me to allow. Some people seem to like or dislike the doctor’s style, but I thought he was fine. He explained what he needed to explain, and that was enough. Revision double-eyelid surgery was optional with or without ptosis correction. Since some mucosa is currently visible, he said ptosis correction could make more of it visible, so I should consider that. He said early revision could be needed within a week after surgery in some cases. With the review event and same-day booking, it was 4.6 million won without ptosis correction; without same-day booking it seemed to exceed 4.9 million won.

Now I have to choose. Honestly, if I only think about the line, I want to go with number 2, but there are almost no reviews there for revision double-eyelid surgery, which worries me. Number 3 is famous and apparently good at what they do, but I am not sure the line really clicks with me. Also, I heard that during postoperative follow-ups the surgeon does not examine you every time. It seems they connect you with the doctor only if there is an issue or you request it, and apparently some people requested it and still could not see the doctor. That is what worries me most. I want to make a decision now. Please share your opinions or any useful information, everyone here...!!
