I had eyes that couldn’t get LASIK, so I was debating between SMILE and LASEK.
I had it done in Busan at ㅅㅌㅂㅇㅂ, by Dr. ㅊㅇㄷ. At this hospital, they recommended LASEK first. They said it was because the surgery is performed precisely by machine, so it is relatively safer than SMILE.
Since it was eye surgery, I was really scared, thinking, what if I blink, what if I move my eyeball, I was so so x100 scared.
SMILE requires manual technique, so just in caaaase I moved my eyes at a really important timing and something went wrong, I chose LASEK.
Even during the consultation, because I was so scared, the doctor answered everything very kindly, and even in the operating room, I was so scared that even my breathing was trembling during surgery, but they kept telling me I was doing well, so I got through it safely haha.
Since it was LASEK, there is dryness, but the surgery went well, and even now, 1 year later, I can still see well. The dryness is much less than the dryness I used to feel when I wore contact lenses every day before surgery, and I only feel it a bit at night after showering when I’m really tired, so I use artificial tears occasionally.
It feels like I only praised them, but honestly, if people around me say they’re getting LASEK, I really want to recommend this hospital.
