Cheekbone Surgery Reviews

Three-year review after two-part facial contouring surgery

I had it done in September 2023, so it has already been three years! The clinic I used closed one or two years ago, so I don’t have the clinic information anymore T_T. I also completed pin removal at the same clinic one year after surgery. I had square-jaw and front-chin surgery. Because my front chin was severely asymmetrical, they reset the central axis, repositioned it, and shaved it. I had hollowing in the side cheeks, so I wondered whether the cheekbones should be reduced, but the doctor said fat grafting would be enough, so they filled the area with fat. I also had liposuction around the jaw because my double chin was fairly pronounced. They seem to have done lots of little things as well. Because of the asymmetry in the height of my mouth corners, they even provided thread lifting as a service during surgery lol. I think the doctor’s aesthetic sense is extremely important when choosing a clinic. In my case, my ears were positioned lower than other people’s, and the doctor said that if all the angles were removed anatomically, I could end up with an overly pointed jaw, so they shaved it naturally without removing every angle. I thought my front chin had a slight prognathic-jaw look, but after feeling it, the doctor said it wasn’t actually protruding. I don’t know exactly what was done, but while working on the jawbone, they also refined the front-chin line a little. I only had work done on my square jaw and front chin, but for everyone considering cheekbone reduction too, please note that the cheekbones should be positioned upward to avoid looking surgically altered and to create a more refined image. If the cheekbones are shaved indiscriminately, the facial contour can collapse and look more saggy. I didn’t end up with a perfect celebrity-like face shape, and of course I have a side effect too (my salivary glands look enlarged), but I’m satisfied because the asymmetry and double chin improved tremendously. I look so natural that my friends had no idea I’d had surgery unless I told them. I still look like a rice cake in photos sometimes, and I’m not perfect, but my contours are much softer and smoother, so I’m much happier than before! If you have questions, I’ll tell you as much as I can~
