Square-jaw surgery at [Clinic A]~

Surgery day — As someone who has had many cosmetic procedures, I was worried about one-type facial contouring surgery (square-jaw reduction + cortical bone shaving + masseter reduction), but contrary to my concerns, it did not hurt at all. It was done under sedation through an incision behind the ears! (No general anesthesia, drains, or hospitalization, which was a major advantage.) The surgeon, coordinator, and staff explained everything very thoroughly, and there was no overtreatment!!! I had one more consultation with the surgeon on the operating table, fell asleep without even realizing it, and woke up to find it over! As the reviews said, the pain was almost nonexistent… My jaw did not hurt, but swelling started on the outside of my neck, and by evening there was severe bruising around my lips and down to my neck… Other than a tolerable throbbing like eye surgery, there was no jaw pain… At home I ate porridge and even soft bread, then took my medicine!!! I also brushed my teeth with a baby toothbrush on the day of surgery!!! But the swelling gradually got worse… I kept icing all night… The swelling was much more uncomfortable than the pain Day 1 — My first thought was, “Can I go to work…?” I was amazed by people who said they did not swell much… Even though the incision was not inside the mouth, perhaps because bone and muscle were removed, my whole mouth was swollen and the inside was covered in bruises… I iced as much as possible, and on the day of surgery I woke up about once an hour to ice, which brought it down a little compared with that day… Still, it was the worst swelling ever Day 2 — I mistook the date and removed the tape I rubbed it with lip-and-eye remover, and it came off incredibly easily!!!! I felt no pain at all while removing it. The swelling had gone down a lot compared with the previous day. I could go to work wearing a mask; there was a lot of bruising around my mouth and swelling and bruising around my neck. Day 3 — Because I removed the tape early, I bought a more comfortable chin strap and slept with it on!!! There was still a lot of swelling and bruising, but it was not enough to make daily life difficult~ The bruising had spread below my neck. I looked like a woman who had attempted suicide and failed… Because of the bruising on my neck, I wore my mask pulled down like a chin guard for two weeks… The major swelling went down a lot after about a week. One month — I still have swelling. People around me seem not to notice unless I tell them. I still have some bruising around my mouth, but makeup covers it! Maybe because of the masseter reduction, it is still difficult to open my mouth wide. When I eat out, I spill food everywhere, and I still brush with a baby toothbrush. There is a little numbness below the left and right ears, but they say it disappears with time, so I think it will be fine… I did not have time to get radiofrequency treatment at the clinic, so I bought a radiofrequency device and use it at home three times a week~ After RF treatment, it feels like the hardened muscles throughout are loosening. Six months — If I do not say anything, nobody knows… People around me say I look like I lost weight and that my face looks smaller. I prefer a natural result to surgery that is too obvious, so I am actually happy!!! Now I can open my mouth very well… so I am gaining weight… Maybe cosmetic surgery really is for personal satisfaction… I think it was a good decision. Apart from occasional itching on the operated side behind my ear and a slightly protruding salivary gland, I am extremely satisfied. I wonder why I agonized over it for years~ Maybe because my facial shape changed, I look 10 years younger!!! Now I am satisfied even when I take photos with a regular camera.
