First, my conditions - First surgery, low nose, small nose - Don’t want costal cartilage - Don’t want to use any implant other than silicone
Clinic 1 ㅁㅌ - Consultation fee 10,000 won, photo shoot
<Surgical method> - Silicone 3.5 mm + septal cartilage + ear cartilage - Surgery time 1:30 to 2:00 if long - Will do sleep anesthesia for only 10 minutes, then local anesthesia for the surgery
<Price> Same-day booking or photo consent 420 + 10% -> 462 Just regular 440 + 10% -> 484
<Design> - Nasal bridge + nasal tip + lower the columella slightly, and slightly lengthen the nasal tip too - Cartilage repositioning (not something like septal extension, so even if it’s not as much as my original nose, I should still be able to make a pig nose and things like that) - If the nose is raised too much, the eyes can look close-set, so no. They don’t recommend over 3.5 - Because the philtrum bone at the columella protrudes, it will only go down by 1 mm. Still, it’s better to do it - Since the columella is quite recessed, when wrinkling the nose, there may be a feeling of the cartilage touching? or bumping into something. I’m slightly worried the surgical method may be to build the columellar strut down below my original columella.
<Aftercare> - Will see the director a total of 4 times after surgery - Swelling injection (don’t know how many times) - AS is free for 3 years if it’s a side effect like inflammation; for aesthetic dissatisfaction, 50% until 1 year, 80% until 2 years, 100% until 3 years…?
<Personal thoughts> - The consultants were all so kind. The director was blunt, but seemed like a good person + the consultants’ aesthetic preference was really my taste
Clinic 2 (There are a lot of personal opinions, so… name undisclosed) - No consultation fee, photo/CT taken
<Surgical method> - Silicone 3-3.5 mm + septal cartilage + ear cartilage (bulbous nose, columella, nasolabial angle, short nose, nostril lowering, cartilage suturing) - Ear cartilage harvesting method uses the lower inner part of the ear, so the scar isn’t visible + piercing is possible later <<< I think this is a huge benefit - Surgery time 1 hour to 1 hour 20 minutes
<Price> 440 including VAT Review 410 (also on this community)
<Aftercare> - Total of 3 checks after surgery - Unlimited AS period for inflammation <<<< good - Couldn’t ask about swelling injections
<Personal thoughts> - I’m a little uneasy because they just said all the concerns from Clinic 1, like the columella and philtrum bone, were totally fine - I was slightly taken aback because the consultant said it was her first time hearing the term cartilage repositioning - My nose is on the tight side, so I asked whether the tension would be too strong, and they said there’s no problem as long as it’s within the amount it can be pulled. If it can be pulled to 5, it’s fine as long as they don’t put in an implant over 5.. yeah. But when they said you just pull it and pray? that it holds, I was a little taken abackㅋㅋㅠㅠ (But with 3-3.5, it doesn’t seem like they’re doing anything excessive, and I think it’s just their speaking style) - The consultants’ aesthetic preference was a bit different from mine
Clinic 3 ㅋㅂㅈ - Consultation fee 10,000 won, no photo/CT
<Surgical method> - Silicone 3.5 + septal cartilage + (may use ear cartilage) - Slightly lower the nasal bridge and septal cartilage something.. Will remove some subcutaneous fat and things like that to reduce the size of the nasal alae - Sleep anesthesia, surgery time 1:30
<Price> 400 including VAT Same-day booking 360 including VAT
<Aftercare> - Will see the director a total of 2 times, and until day 6, they do swelling laser every time I come in - Blood test before surgery << interesting - AS for 3 years, free if inflammation occurs; for cosmetic purposes, they charge 300,000-500,000 won for anesthesia - CCTV for 2 weeks, guardian can watch in real time
<Personal thoughts> - The consultant’s aesthetic direction and mine were different, the consultation was short, and it was interesting that they didn’t take photos - But I really liked the director, and he examined my nose carefully with a light - Before surgery, you schedule a date and consult, and on the day there isn’t a long consultation
Clinic 4 ㄱㅇㅈ - Photo shoot, consultation fee
<Surgical method> - 3 mm ear cartilage, postauricular fascia - They will lower the columella, but only lower it by as much as the angle goes down when the nose is simply raised
<Cost> 380 + 10%
<Aftercare> - See the director a total of 5 times after surgery - No swelling injection << sad.. - Surgery under local anesthesia (no sleep anesthesia), surgery time 1 hour 30 minutes - AS 1 year
<Personal thoughts> - I’m worried: when supporting the columella with ear cartilage, could it end up drooping? - They said they cut some muscle somewhere in the nose to prevent the nose from dropping, but it was the last consultation stop, so my concentration had dropped a bit,, sad,, - The director was so nice, and the fact that he doesn’t use septal cartilage is very appealing - But some of the nose designs he showed me didn’t quite match me
<Summary> Price: 3<4<2<1 Director’s age: 2<134 Private clinic: all four Number of times seeing the director after surgery: 3<2<1<4 Facilities: 4<<3=<12 Anesthesia: 1,4 -> local anesthesia, 2,3 -> sleep anesthesia Distinctive points of each clinic 1: Most expensive (though they’re all similar), because my columella is recessed, if they lower the columella, cartilage may bump and feel uncomfortable… I really want to ask again because I didn’t understand well ㅠㅠ, the most honest and they talked a lot about risks 2: Method to reduce the nasal alae -> cartilage suturing, unlimited inflammation AS period, uses the lower inner ear cartilage so the scar isn’t visible 3: Blood test before surgery, director has a likable impression.., method to reduce the nasal alae -> subcutaneous fat removal, only two postoperative visits 4: The only one that doesn’t use septal cartilage, uses fascia. I think it would be good because the nose may feel soft. No swelling injection
Clinics I’m considering 1 is almost 5 million won, so I don’t think I can do it I’m deciding between 2 or 4 For 3, it seems like they mainly use septal cartilage, and I want them to use septal cartilage conservatively even if they harvest ear cartilage, so I excluded it Anyway, for 2, even if an issue occurs, AS due to inflammation is unlimited, so I think I’ll go with 2 or 4…! But really, the staff at ㅁㅌ are really… so close to my ideal that I’m still debating..
