First of all, I had revision facelift surgery about two or three years ago, and my nose has gradually been developing contracture, so I have been looking into rhinoplasty lately. Price: I had it done at [Clinic A], and because it was a revision, it was in the mid-10-million-won range. For primary surgery, I understand it is in the low 10-million-won range. (You would probably need to ask the hospital for exact details.)
Recovery period: My memory is hazy, but if you plan very conservatively, recovery takes over a month. If you mean being able to do all daily activities, it is two months, but taking time off was difficult for me then, so I took exactly one week of vacation. Honestly, you can return to work after a week wearing a mask, but if you work in customer service and meet many people, I think you would be unable to work for at least two weeks.
Hospital review: Since this is a place for hospital reviews, I will review [Clinic A]. The doctor has a rather neat, no-nonsense style: they tell you clearly what can and cannot be done. I like honest people, but if you want someone extremely warm and agreeable, the style may not suit you. Personally, I think surgical skill matters more because my first surgery was a complete disaster even though the doctor was kind. This doctor repaired the pixie ear and sagging jawline ruined by my first surgery. The bottom photo is me now, more than two years later, and unlike after my first surgery, there is no sagging at all. After the first surgery, my entire jawline sagged within six months^^;;
Side effects: I experienced everything from the first surgery—my entire jawline sagging and pixie ears—so I went through nearly every possible side effect. With the second surgery, I did not have many issues like that. However, it took longer for facial sensation to return after the second surgery; it only fully came back around month six. I had been told that sensation could take longer to return after revision surgery, but I was still really anxious… It completely returned in month seven.
That is about all for the review. I hope it helps others before getting a facelift. I am not saying the hospital I used is the only right answer, but if you do not want a revision like me, I recommend going to a place where one dedicated surgeon performs facelifts from the primary surgery. I tried to save money at a large hospital and chose an event price, but if you are unlucky like me, you end up needing revision surgery The revision cost twice as much as the primary surgery, so I think it is better to pay the proper price from the beginning. Also, facelift prices have risen overall recently, so there is not much difference between large hospitals and one-surgeon clinics~.. Plus, I have developed nasal contracture and am looking into revision rhinoplasty. If you know a hospital that is good at revision surgery, please recommend one… It seems different from the places that were famous when I had mine… My ideal nose is still Min Hyo-rin’s..
