I went for a consultation for my first nose surgery I’ll make more appointments at other places and go there too
My nose right now is bulbous, and compared with other parts of my face and body, it’s on the bigger side You can think of my proportions as being almost concentrated on my nose My nasal bridge isn’t exactly nonexistent, but I do want it shaped in a natural-but-defined way. It’s bulbous, and the nose is also droopy So I’m looking for someone who can naturally lift the nasal tip too
-ㅂㄴㄴ After checking in and taking photos, I went straight into the first consultation with the consultant The consultant first asked about my needs, listened, and then gave me a basic diagnosis She explained while drawing on an iPad, but why was she so good at drawing? During the doctor’s consultation, he touched my nose directly and used cotton swabs to set the line for me Looking at the photos, he talked about my nose shape and the angle coming down from the forehead starting point? Or should I call it the line Anyway, he said we need to pay attention to that too, and the nasolabial angle? I think that means the angle between the nasal tip and the lips He said we should design it while paying attention to that too
He said there are several types of bulbous noses (?) Cases where the cartilage is large, cases where the cartilage is just average but there is a lot of fat, and so on He said in my case, it doesn’t seem like the cartilage is large, but rather that there is a lot of fat, so we should remove unnecessary tissue He said I probably don’t need alar reduction The doctor said he doesn’t really like using costal cartilage for a first surgery, and said my septal cartilage seems sufficient So he suggested using septal cartilage. When I told him I wanted the droopy nasal tip improved, he said he’d do it well so it wouldn’t become an upturned nose lol This was the first time I found out I have a dorsal hump He said it’s very mild, but since it is a hump, we should shave it slightly and fill the step-off with silicone He said about 2-2.5 mm should be enough Since I said I wanted to raise the nasal bridge naturally, I think that’s why he gave that diagnosis (I did think that was less than I expected lol)
Aftercare/AS period The 1, 3, 7 rule lol You go to the clinic on day 1, day 3, and day 7 He said they would handle aftercare thoroughly (dressing, antibiotic/swelling injections and laser, sebum care) AS is also within 1 year, and he likewise said they would take responsibility and handle it He said they would also check progress together, and if it looks like scar tissue has formed, they would give an injection too After receiving aftercare and finishing the visit schedule, he said I would come back again to check progress after about a month and a half
Cost If you reserve on the same day, there’s a discount (discount rates vary by hospital, so compare carefully) There’s a discount if you allow partial disclosure of just the nose. This was a 500,000 won? discount
My estimate came out in the high 3 million won range lol
I have appointments booked at other hospitals this week, but the weather is so bad I’m debating whether to push them to next week... I’ll write reviews after I visit the other hospitals too
