Three years ago I had tip rhinoplasty done somewhere else, and after the swelling went down, I saw that the tip had become way too sharp. It felt artificial and really overdone? My nostrils also seemed slightly asymmetrical, and it was honestly stressful. My alar base had already been on the wide side, and once only the tip became pointy, it looked even stranger. That is why it took me more than a year just to look into revision surgery. Revision surgery requires checking the stuck tissue and the implant condition, so the consultation is more difficult, and you cannot just go anywhere. If it fails one more time, there is no fix, you know. At my consultation at Mighty, the doctor explained the current pointed shape by talking about the silicone position at the tip and the cartilage condition. He clearly pointed out what was causing the problem now. At other consultations, they just kept saying it can be done well, honestly. So I decided on revision surgery here and also had alar reduction at the same time. I had wanted to reduce the alar base from my first surgery, but I did not do it then. It has been two months now, and it looks really natural. The pointy feeling at the tip is gone, and from the front the proportions seem much better. The alar base is definitely smaller too, and now there is nothing odd whether I look from the side or the front. I still think there is a bit of residual swelling, so I feel like it will look even prettier after 3 months. Thinking about how I spent years worrying and stressing after the first surgery, I keep thinking I should have done this sooner.. I hope this helps anyone considering revision surgery.
