Anti-Aging Surgery

Went to Gangnam ㅅㄴㅇ ㅇㅇ yesterday and got strung along for 3 hours and even mocked... (long post warning)

Yesterday I went to ㅅㄴㅇ ㅇㅇ in Gangnam for consultations about liposuction and fat grafting. To get straight to the point, my appointment was at 12:00, but I went in at 11:30 and didn’t leave until 2:30. I was kept waiting and messed around for 3 hours, and then came out after even being mocked. My hands are still shaking and I’m so angry. For reference, I’m 165 cm, 58 kg, and my body fat percentage is 26%, and I was told that the amount of fat was barely enough by the standard for large-volume breast and butt fat grafting. At first, they guided me to the changing room and took consultation photos, and up to that point they were really kind, so I went in feeling good. After the photos, I started consulting with the manager, and I said that I came in thinking about chin liposuction (700,000 won, but because I have a history of contour surgery, they demanded 1,000,000 won for a major surgery), breast fat grafting (2,390,000 won), and butt fat grafting (2,390,000 won). I asked whether, since the extraction areas were the thighs and back rolls and I was doing the breast and butt together, they could include an extra extraction area, but they said no right away. I accepted that part. But the event prices already included anesthesia fees and operating room fees, and I wasn’t going to have anesthesia three times or use three operating rooms, so I asked them to remove the overlapping portion. Then suddenly, in a snappy, irritated way, she pulled out the earphones she had been wearing and tossed them onto the table. I was honestly dumbfounded for a moment, but I held back. Then I said that if the number of surgeries was fewer, I’d even do arm 360, so please just remove the overlapping amount. She went out saying she would check with the doctor (first time going out). But even after waiting about 20 minutes, she didn’t come back. Frustrated, I went outside and found her chatting with the staff at the counter. Then she shamelessly came back in and said the doctor had not approved it, but she would use her own discretion to reduce it from 6.97 million won to 6.70 million won. So I asked whether she could change the extraction areas to the inner thighs and lower abdomen for 6.50 million won, and she said absolutely not. I was so stunned that I tried to leave, and only then did she grab me, saying she would change the areas for 6.70 million won. But it still seemed heavily padded, so I said I’d be getting surgery the very next day anyway and asked them to do it for 6.00 million. She must have needed time to strategize, because she went out again saying she’d bring the doctor (second time going out). Again, I waited for tens of minutes, and when I looked outside thinking of leaving, she was just resting by herself again. When she saw me, she told me to sit down because the doctor would come. While I was waiting, she pretended to negotiate the price again, but the discount she had just offered was quietly reset, and she kept entering the same numbers into the calculator over and over. Then, while I was slightly distracted, she casually added 700,000 won, so when I asked why the price had gone up, she mumbled that it was a mistake and brushed it off. Then the doctor came in, and the manager took the doctor outside; I could hear clearly over the clinic wall, “The price hasn’t been adjusted yet.” After coming back in, the topic of accessory breast tissue came up, so I asked to replace the front part of arm 360 (inner, back, and front at 420,000 won each, 1,190,000 won for the set) with accessory breast tissue (600,000 won). Naturally, I was expecting to pay around the 1,190,000 won with just the difference, but they added up the individual prices as-is and quoted 1,440,000 won. Then the doctor finally came in. He did a perfunctory ultrasound, basically just glanced over the breasts and didn’t even look at the butt or other areas. Meanwhile, the manager was standing right beside the table, almost against the desk, with her arms crossed, looking down at me. Even when I signaled her to sit down, she never did. The doctor consultation lasted about 5 to 6 minutes, and the ultrasound 2 minutes, and that was it. When I asked whether arm 360 minus the outer side plus accessory breast tissue could be done for 1,190,000 won, the doctor said yes. But the moment he finished speaking, the manager saw the chance for a discount and immediately sent the doctor back outside. Then, without any explanation, they suddenly said they wanted to change rooms. As soon as the room changed, they changed their story too. They said arm 360 had to be done no matter what, that the 420,000 won per area rate was only for revision patients, and that I should just pay the full 1,190,000 won plus 600,000 won for accessory breast tissue. When I told them not to keep changing what they said, they raised their voices, so I said I’d just leave, and then they went out again saying they needed doctor confirmation (third time going out). As expected, even after about 20 minutes they still hadn’t come back, and when I checked outside, they were chatting again. In the end, they said they would do lower abdomen and inner thigh liposuction, plus breast and butt fat grafting, plus the service liposuction areas for the breast and butt procedures, plus arm inner and back liposuction, accessory breast tissue, and the face, for a total of 7.57 million won, but after approval they would cut it to 7.30 million won. I just said I wouldn’t do it and left, and they completely ignored me. When I asked where the changing room was, only then did they lazily point with a finger. On the way to change, my mom called and asked how the consultation went, and I was so upset that I said, “I don’t think I need plastic surgery, I’m already pretty enough,” then hung up. As I was changing in the locker room, I heard loud snickering from the counter and then, “If you don’t need plastic surgery, why did you even come to a plastic surgery clinic~~” and they mocked me like that. I was really choked up and so upset. Since I was leaving anyway, I tried to at least get the manager’s business card, but they told me to go to a room, so I said no. Then they told me to sit down first and started hammering away at the calculator in a flashy way. Then they said they would lower it from 7.30 million to 7.20 million. They said the compression garment was separate, so I politely said no thanks and left. They still never told me their name and said they didn’t have a business card. When I got outside and checked the time, it was 2:30 p.m. I felt like I had been locked up and tortured for a full 3 hours and I wanted to cry. But a few minutes after I left, they called and said they would do 7.15 million instead of 7.20 million. It’s not like they were testing how much I could take, they were just irritating me by pretending to lower the price little by little, and I was about to let it go and hang up, but right before I did, I was so angry that I said, “I heard everything you said while I was leaving the changing room, including the criticism and mockery. I’ll write a great review for you, so look forward to it.” Then they replied in a sarcastic tone, “Ah, I’m sorry if you felt bad~” After that, they called from a private 010 number and asked what my budget was, so I said never mind and hung up. A few minutes later, another staff member called and blurted out, “Could you maybe withdraw cash and do 6 million won?” Their intentions were obvious. In the last call, tens of minutes later, they said they could match the price if I did full-body liposuction including the breasts, butt, and face, and they’d add more as a service. A clinic that spent 3 hours ignoring me and making me run around like a dog, while only shaving off a few hundred thousand won, suddenly offered to cut millions and add extra areas after I said I’d write a review, and that showed me exactly what level they were at. In a way, I think it’s legendary salesmanship to treat a patient like this, especially someone who had already prepared all the money and said they would have surgery the very next day, and still end up making them write a review like this. In any case, I think it shows their level of trustworthiness without any filter. This is the first time in my life I’ve ever felt that something had gone too far. I’ve never even written reviews for clothes or cosmetics, so this was a new experience in many ways. Everyone, please keep this in mind if you go to ㅅㄴㅇ ㅇㅇ in Gangnam, and I hope you don’t have to go through the same thing.
