It feels like not long ago that I was worrying a lot about philtrum dimple surgery and digging up tons of information, but it’s already been a month since the surgery... I’ll write a review from the day of surgery to the one-month mark~ First, after the consultation on the same day, my schedule fit, so I was able to get the surgery right away. I had never seriously thought about philtrum dimple surgery itself, but I did think quite a bit about the hospital. After consulting with the director, I was convinced by the explanation that since my philtrum had a lot of fat, this hospital would suit me well because they use a method of removing the fat with a laser? and then tying it off, so I chose this place~ First of all, the only pain during surgery was the anesthesia injection. I could really go right back to daily life immediately. As the anesthesia wore off, there was a bit of a burning sensation, but it wasn’t to the point of unbearable pain or crying. I’m usually not someone who swells much, so I didn’t worry at all about swelling after surgery, but from day 3 to day 7, the swelling was really severe. I went out wearing a mask~ There was no pain, just a Homer Simpson experience. My nostrils were so swollen that I hit the peak of ugliness and thought maybe the surgery had failed. Day 7 The major swelling had gone down, but there was still swelling, and I had a numb sensation along the lip line and a hard feeling under the nose, and I couldn’t move the philtrum freely. More than anything, the dimple-like puncture mark in the philtrum was darker than I expected. Thankfully, the swelling in my nose seemed to be almost all gone by day 7. And honestly, I couldn’t notice a big change in the side line of the philtrum, and I wasn’t satisfied with the philtrum line either, so I was feeling depressed, but when I went in for a follow-up on day 7, they told me the swelling still needed to go down more, so I decided to relax. Still, the side view was indented. On day 7 I visited the hospital and also received swelling-laser treatment~ Day 14 It became much more natural, and the swelling kept going down. From the side, the overly deep indentation had become more natural, but I had wanted a fully indented look, so I was disappointed. The hard feeling in the philtrum and the numbness in the upper lip, like the sensation hadn’t fully returned, were still there. As sensation gradually came back, I also felt a slight pulling sensation in the philtrum. There’s nothing that makes daily life especially uncomfortable~ One month It feels like the swelling is slowly going down, though I can’t quite tell whether it has really gone down or not. Around the one-month mark, I started to see a clear droplet-shaped indentation below the pinched point. Also, the area just under the nose had no line and looked puffy, to the point where I wondered if it had loosened or wasn’t pinched properly, but maybe it’s just my mood or maybe it’s real, because I feel like there’s a slightly defined line now? The pinched? spot in the philtrum still has the little puncture mark. I’m not really covering it up and just going around like this, but nobody has asked why my philtrum looks like that.. Even when I ask acquaintances whether anything looks different, nobody guesses the right answer... Honestly, my personal satisfaction still isn’t that high yet. I’m believing that the swelling just hasn’t gone down yet. I must be the type whose swelling lasts a long time.. I want to post a super satisfied review once all the swelling is gone at the 3-month mark. So I’ll look forward to that day dearly.. and that’s the end of my one-month review.
