8 years ago, I had a nose tip surgery using septal cartilage without an implant, but translucency developed at the tip of my nose and my left columella started protruding, so I began going around for consultations.
I went to two places today, so I’ll first leave Part 1 of my consultation review. Both places are in Busan.
1. ㅇ Clinic I went because I had an appointment at 10:30 in the morning, but there were a lot of people.
After taking a CT scan, before consulting with the director, I first had a consultation with the consultant. She explained, “It would be good to do this,” and “This can also be done,” so I thought she was the one performing the surgery... She was kind, but it was also a bit flustering.
I was supposed to consult with the director, but I waited for about an hour. The desk staff basically ignored me, but the two consultants were restless because I was waiting so long, so thanks to them I felt a bit less upset (I’m pretty simple-minded...ㅠㅠ)
During the consultation with the director, he said that if the nose tip is shaved down slightly and covered with dermis from behind the ear, the translucency would likely disappear. He said that if a new support column is made, the columella may look crooked (he said my current columella is straight too, and it looks that way because my face is naturally asymmetrical). He explained that the dermis would be harvested through a 2 cm incision behind the ear, and since some shaving would be needed, the nose tip would become slightly lower than now. He also said the surgery time would be about 1 hour. But he said it seemed like I didn’t necessarily need to do it.
When discussing the cost with the consultant, she said it was originally 4.07 million won, but if I partially disclose the surgery, with the consultant discount included, it could go down to 3.5 million won. Aftercare is provided for up to 3 years. They have CCTV, and a guardian can watch in real time. I can choose between sedation anesthesia and local anesthesia. The deposit is 10% of the surgery fee. The consultation fee is 10,000 won, taken when making the reservation to prevent no-shows, but it is refunded after the consultation. There is no CT fee.
2. ㅁ Clinic I waited less than 10 minutes and went straight into the consultation with the director. After looking at my nose, he said, “Why do you want to do it? At this level, you don’t need to. No more problems will occur, and if you have revision surgery, the result won’t be very different compared to the effort involved,” and told me to just leave it as it is. The director was so confident that for a moment I wondered if it was actually okay and whether I really didn’t need to do it. The consultation with the director was over in 5 minutes. No consultation fee.
So these are my reviews of the two clinics I visited today. I still have 7 places left, but if the next 2 places also tell me not to do it, I’m just not going to get revision surgery :)
This post is all over the place, but I hope it helps!
